Good morning it's a beautiful day here; frosty, sunny, blue skies and no wind I've just got home from our walk, I've taken the day off work to clean the house because I just can't catch up properly lately.
I'm starting at the top and working my way down, I'll pop in on my tea & snack break though

El, I'm glad you slept better and yogi, good luck at the tip
Squiggle, moonie, skylark & velvet, I hope you all slept well

Good luck with your cleaning, Summer.

Squiggle, did the heavy frost look pretty?

*coughs* did you get rid of that pink mini skirt though Yogi? *coughs*

I do have a denim mini skirt that Mr Yogi refuses to let me throw out!

I hope he isn't expecting me to fit into it - or he's going to be seriously disappointed!!

I had a letter from my brother this morning. He mentioned that he had been getting rather dodgy broadband connections for the last week. He's with plusnet. I had a look at they had some problems at the end of January. Although they were sorted out, some people have continued to have problems. Plusnet say they should recoonect their router and provided a link for that. I've let my brother know and when he gets back home he'll do that.

I hope your brother manages to get his broadband sorted quickly, we all need that internet access more and more, we are lost without it.

I hope you manage to get all your running around done and can get home in the warm moonie.

I have been for my diabetic eye test, all seems well as far as he could tell, my eyesight is still very blurry now, but hopefully it will clear up within the next couple of hours as my pupils get back to normal.

Well done, Summer. I agree, it's very satisfying when it's all done.

Was it a handwritten letter, El?

I can't remember the last time someone sent me a handwritten letter.

Squiggle, I'm glad the sight test went well.

Yogi, no, my brother prints out his letters. He's done that for many many years as he thinks his handwriting isn't very legible.

Many years ago, some time in the 1980s, I found an Atari magazine with a type in lising for a word processor program. I typed it in, took a long time as it was a long program, and gave it to my brother as a present. He used it for some years to type letters to people.

It may have been the one in this old computer magazine - the article starts on page 56.

How the computer world has changed since - computer magazines with listings to type in were very popular then. Not now.

2 floors complete and the car broke down as I had to go to one of those routine girlie appointments that we all dread, just as Mr summer arrived home so I could borrow his car!
The RAC are coming in the morning to tow mine to a garage, thank goodness I'm off tomorrow

Squiggle I hope your results are clear and that you can relax now for the evening x

My sons' first computer was an Atari.

Oh no Summer, I hope the repair can be done quickly and isn't costly.

Just mark it 'Yogi in Scotland'.

I did get a short program I wrote published in an Atari magazine. It was back in late 1989. I still have the magazine and I could type the program out here but it would be rather pointless unless you had an Atari ST computer In those days, quite a few program listings had rows of hexadecimal digits to type in. That's the digits 0 to 9, A,(=10) B, C, D, E, and F (=15). My program converted the numeric keyboard so that you could type the A to F on that as well as the ordinary number keys. The numeric keyboard was a bit different to the pc keyboard layout so that there were two keys where the plus key is. So I had at the top A, B, C, D, then going down on the right E and F before the Enter key.

Where is the "totally baffled" smiley when I need it?!

Well done on getting your program published, El.
