T thought I had done the last tax return for my clients yesterday afternoon. Then last evening at just after 9 I had a phone call from a panic stricken client. I had done his return last year and after I sent it in HMRC informed him that returns would not be required in future. So I hadn't been in touch with him because of that.

But his income has crept over the threshold where he has to repay some of the child benefit they get. So he does need a return after all.

We' are sorting it out and I should get the rest of the information I need overnight so I should be able to get it done in time.

I bet he was relieved you could sort it for him at such short notice.

Squiggle, well done on avoiding the rain.

Love the bear pic, Summer. When you get time, you'll have to tell us all about Strictly.

I hope you have a lovely weekend with your brother, El.

Have a good day everyone, and stay cosy.

Good morning everyone, I shall just echo everything you say above Yogi have a lovely weekend EL, what a gorgeous Friday picture Summer, yes please tell us all about your Strictly outing, who was dancing, what were they wearing and what dances did they do?  Good call on not risking the icy pavements and staying under the duvet.

Be careful Yogi and Summer if you have to go out today, we don't want any falls

Enjoy your day everyone

I've done that client's tax return and sent it to him for approval via a secure portal accountants can use to send confidential documents.

He's currently trying to navigate through the portal account I've set up for him and hopefully I'll soon get his approval and I can file the return with HMRC.

Then I can relax

And if anyone else rings me saying they need their tax return done by tomorrow, they've had it

El Loro

Popped out to do a bit of shopping and when I got home I saw someone had rung me. They didn't leave a message but it was a local number. So I rang them back and it was the man who had bought my parents' house a few years ago. He hadn't intended to ring me, he had pushed the wrong button

At least it wasn't someone panicking about tax returns.

I've been out and about and it is slippy underfoot, but no falls to report.

Hi Velvet.

I'm being good and careful, as always.

Now, why do I think that's a porkie...?

T'is the truth! My sons call me Goody Two Shoes.

I'm finally back the opportunities kept eluding me!

El, have a good weekend with your brother. I'm glad you were both feeling well & able

Here's my strictly report at last...

Caroline, Mark, Simon, Alison, Thom and Scott were on the tour, with Rachel Stevens stepping in for Frankie who had to drop out last minute (she's pregnant). Rachel was amazing, she's learned 7 dances in 6 days! Caroline was amazing, she won the trophy on the night. I wasn't a Simon fan but he was very good and danced that Argentine tango which wowed the crowd. Thom & Iveta were good, they look loved up. Scott can't dance for toffee but just laughed his head off the entire time- he danced his crab and halloween dances. Alison, Thom and caroline did their charleston each. Rachel did a tango & a Rhumba which I beliebe were her dances with vincent from 2008, Kevin was brilliant as usual.
The costumes were very sparkly! They did a group dance at the end to Disney's Frozen song Let it Go, the costumes were ball gowns in sparkly blue, white & silver.

Have a good and careful weekend and try to avoid falling on the ice and snow. No snow where I am and not expecting any over the weekend. Looks as if Tuesday is the most likely day when it will snow here.

have a lovely weekend with your brother EL

Good morning everyone

Cloudy here and has been raining but that's expected to stop soon. On the cold side and likely to be cold for the next week in my area. Not much snow in the forecast.

I'm having a good weekend with my brother.

Yogi I hope you have a good day with PB and try not to throw too many snowballs at her

I hope everyone has a good weekend and keeps warm

Good morning everyone, that sounds so wonderful, you describe it so well Summer that I can visualise it.  Pascha was on the BBC breakfast show just now, did you get to see him too?  I know he is a great favourite.  I am glad you had such a good time, the costumes sound lovely.

I hope your weekend is going well EL, you haven't told us yet what cake you are having, well if you have I can't remember

It's blowing a hooley here again so I'm not intending to go out although the birds have raced through the food again so if it calms down a bit I might venture out to fill it up again.

Enjoy your day everyone

Squiggle, as my brother didn't come here for Christmas as I had a very infectious flu0like bug, we are having the Christmas cake this weekend. There will be a lot left over as he's here for 2 days rather than 6 so he'll be taking some back with him. We had a couple of Christmas puddings at lunchtime today and exchanged presents yesterday. The speakers I got with the computer I bought last spring were of poor quality and he bought some Bose ones as a present for me to replace those. They are much better than the ones I had been using.

El Loro
Good afternoon/evening

Did someone say christmas...?!

El, just in case you don't have yours up...

Squiggle, Pascha wasn't on the tour I very much wish he was! They said he couldn't do it, so Tristan danced with caroline in his place. Trent was dancing among the group dances, it's such a shame that pixie wasn't with him. I'd have happily replaced Mark with Jake too

I've had another busy day at work, but have had a nice relaxing bath and am heading out for tea with friends shortly. Sign up below if you would like a doggy bag

Yogi I hope you're having a lovely PB day

Moonie, I hope you're alright
~Sparkling Summer~

Evening all.

El, it sounds like you and your brother are having a lovely time.

I agree with Squiggle that it was a shame that Pasha wasn't on the tour, he's one of my favourites, Summer.

Joe, I hope the blizzard didn't last too long!

I had a lovely day with PB. She didn't have a nap though, so it was a busy day!
