You are probably right Yogi.  It still such a pity though as it's a great production.

TV repair man has been.  He said he thinks the left speaker is at fault but as they come in pairs he will change them both.  Unfortunately the speakers have to be ordered and it could take as long as two weeks before he comes back to do the work!!  Good job I'm not relying on that television alone.

Good evening to all my lovely buddies.  I think the TV man would have left without doing anything had I not been so persistent   He couldn't make the sound distort and it all sounded perfectly okay.  However when he went into the balance bit between left and right speakers he did manage to make the left speaker distort when he turned the volume up high.  I think he decided it was probably "in his best interests" to do SOMETHING.  I cannot believe I am really that scary but perhaps I am

I watched the latest episode of Larkrise this afternoon and I have to say I found it rather "peculiar".    That's all I will say.  Look forward to your comments on the epsiode.

Probably won't be back tonight but will catch up with you all again tomorrow.  Have left a comment in our PM.  Love you all.

that things go wrong the day after the guarantee runs out
Years ago my Sony video recorder went wrong about 2 weeks after the guarantee ended. I took it in for repair to a local repair shop. After some weeks of them getting nowhere I made enquiries and found where the local Sony shop sent customer machines for repair. So I went direct to that repair shop and passed it to them. After a couple of weeks they told me that they were unable to get the necessary part. I retrieved the machine though there was little I could do with it. The engineer I saw walked back to my car with me and told me that Sony's policy was only to stock parts for 5 years after the machine ceased production. Other manufacturers had a 7 year policy. He recommended that I got Panasonic which is what I have bought since. It is possible that Sony and the other manufacturers have changed their policy since, so by now they may be similar.

Good morning Joyron and Yogi

I'm expecting the boiler engineer to be here at 9.30. Needless to say, the boiler started this morning without a problem and the pressure is slightly higher than yesterday. It's still lower than it should be so, if nothing else, I need to know where these taps are and for the pressure to be restored.

Isn't that the way of things.
It's still best to get it checked out, and as you say you need to find out where the taps are.

The boiler man has been and gone. He was a bit late but did ring me to let me know he was on his way.

He has shown me what to do with increasing the water pressure. It's simple enough, but totally different to what he had said to me on the phone yesterday - different boilers have different methods. Whatever caused the problem in the first place seems to have corrected itself.

Looking at the installation manual, my boiler has an optional integral filling connection for filling water which is why the engineer's phone conversation yesterday didn't make sense.

Good morning Skylark and everyone
The HTTP 500 error means that there's a problem with the web server which handles this forum - it's a catch all error which means it's not a lot of help to those trying to sort out the problem.

But it's not a problem with your computer or your ISP, it's at the server of this forum.

99% of the time, it is temporary and goes away.

Good afternoon everyone.    Glad the boiler problems have been sorted El Loro.   I'm afraid to say that I fear nothing will come from any enquiry into heating oil costs!!

I keep watching my oil go down and down.  The tank has gone from 9/10ths full to 6/10ths full in just over a month (22nd Dec to 24th Jan).  However as it went from 9 to 8 so quickly I think that perhaps the delivery had only just tipped the register to 9 and the consumption is not quite so bad as it seems.  It's the only way I can make myself feel better by thinking that!!  I will have to top the tank up at the end of February, or early March, but I will only buy enough to keep us going until the warmer weather comes around.  Hopefully by then the cost will have gone down a little as demand will not be as high as in the winter months.
