So do I.

Current local forecast is that there will be heavy snow in my area on Sunday morning when I'm off to church.

It does look like it will settle and it's still snowing. I can see my haircut being cancelled.

I hope it isn't too bad for you on Sunday, El.

Thanks Yogi. There's a 60-70% chance at that time but the forecast could easily change. I hope the weather improves for you so that you can get out.

Let's hope the forecast will change for the better.

Morning

Hope the snow doesnt settle, Yogi, its nice to look at, but a nuisance if you have to be out and about. No snow here, but very cold. The wind has died down tho, at last.
Wasnt around yesterday, Granddaughter got a bit of a tummy bug, she a lot brighter this morning, and hopefully will have something light for lunch. She been drinking water so thats good.
Will try to be back later. Have a good day

Good afternoon icy cold but bright & clear here. The wind has calmed down too

Yogi I hope you do manage to get your haircut, be careful if you do go out

Skylark I hope GD soon feels better, poor lamb. Hope you don't catch it too
Last week a lady brought her children in for haircuts while they were actually off school with a sickness bug! I turned them out as politely as I could, they really should be in the house until they're fully recovered
~Sparkling Summer~

Thanks for good wishes re Granddaughter. When i phoned school, i asked the secretary if more were off with the same thing, she said she wasnt aware of anyone being off for those symptoms. As she has school lunches i wanted them to be aware, as perhaps something dodgy on the menu. Just maybe one of those 24 hour bugs. She has had a plain yoghurt, and some apple. She still a bit quiet, most unlike her! But she on the mend.  Son is back from work, and they cuddled up watching DVD,s, Rugrats just now
Havent seen the weather forecasts, but take care all if the snow hits xx

lol Good for you, Summer. Why don't people think about how they are spreading these bugs by not keeping the kids at home?!

Yogi19

I managed to get my hair cut but we had to make a sharp exit afterwards as the snow came on thick and fast. It's still snowing but we are safely tucked up at home and have no intention of venturing out again tonight.

Velvet and El, I also try to avoid driving in snow, as there are too many idiots out there who don't drive for the road conditions.

Aww at Skylark's granddaughter and son cuddled up and watching Rugrats.

Yogi19

Hi Yogi, glad you got the hair cut and feeling good ! (hopefully)
Glad too you home safe.
Hi Summer, rather irresponsible , taking kids out when they may be infectious. I have been cleaning with Dettol and bleach , hopefully keeping any infection under control, common sense really....

Son and Granddaughter now sleeping ! I feel like sleeping myself . Watched her last night, and lay down dressed as she had a slight rash, so was on alert to phone taxi to hospital, quicker than an ambulance, but she fine, now, thank God xx

It's so scary when there's a rash starting, thank goodness it wasn't anything serious.

Yogi, how deep is your snow?! I'm glad you got your haircut

Velvet, when I read your post I thought you said "curry" instead of "flurry"

Just a couple of inches now. The problem is that the roads haven't been gritted so the snow is compacting.

lol There are always a few disappointed faces in the Yogi clan when they realise it is Chinese New Year and all the takeaways are shut.

Skylark I am glad GD is on the mend now, so awful to see children unwell, it makes you feel so helpless. They must look so cute, GD will certainly need the sleep and so will you from the sound of it.

I am glad you managed to get your hair cut Yogi, sounds like a close run thing with the snow getting so heavy.  Like most people I don't drive nowadays in the snow.  If there's ice on my pond I don't go out, it's the way I measure how slippy it might be.  As I live in a tiny village the roads are not gritted and with the run off from the fields it can be like an ice rink, I don't take the chance.

It was a close run thing and I was glad Mr Yogi had gone with me, as he drove back. He is brilliant at driving in terrible road conditions.

I like the idea of a pond as a barometer for slippy-ness.

I'm off to get something to eat, see you all later.

I've been working on one of my clients tax returns and he has made a loss on the business partneship he is in (I don't do the partnership accounts, just his return). So I need to decide how to claim tax relief on the loss.

I won't confuse you with the various options, but in fact there are 5 of them. So I've been working out the effect of each option so that I can go throught them with him. He will have to make the final decision as to which option,

I've also been trying to get papers from a client to do their VAT return. After some chasing he sent them this afternoon in an email in a zipped file. The only trouble was that when I came to access the individual docements, they would not open - it must be something to do with the way he compressed them. So I rang him, and in the end he got me to go on to Logmein to get access to my computer and he transferred them direct to the folder I wanted them in. Then I printed off the documents to see if they seemed complete and rang me back to check that what I had was complete. (Logmein is a well known application for remote access to computers - the business includes providing support to solicitors for a case management program which they sell, he's a member of the Law Society).

So it's been a bit of a afternoon for me.

El Loro

Good morning everyone

Cold here of course but the forecast at present shows that the snow risk in my area has reduced.

Yesterday afternoon was very busy but it should mean that the client work I need to do over the next 2 weeks before the 31 January deadline is under control and shouldn't be as hectic as it might have been.

El Loro

Good morning everyone, the only snow possible here is for higher ground than where I live, thankfully, my days of wanting to build snowmen are long past and now I am just grateful if it's not slippy outside

You have worked so hard EL, well done, as others have said, your clients are lucky to have such a conscientious accountant I hope it really is trouble-free as the deadline approaches.

Enjoy your Saturday everyone, whatever you're up to.  Yogi I've lost touch with your car, have you got it back yet and if not when is it likely to be returned?

 You're not far wrong!

Good morning everyone.

Our street hasn't been ploughed or gritted so the snow is still compacted on the road, but we think the main roads will have been done.

Squiggle, I got my wee car back on Wednesday so I'm a happy Yogi!

El, this must be one of the busiest times of the year for you. Are most of your clients quite good at getting all the info to you in plenty of time?

Hi Moonie. You keep safe and warm too.

Middle and youngest sons planned to visit today, but that might change, depending on road and weather conditions.

Have a good day everyone.
