A few years ago I received a letter similar to your email about a member of my family who had died in an accident in China. A few weeks ago my brother received a simiar letter.

I saw the first of those Avengers episodes last night and enjoyed it as much as I did almost 50 years ago. It was interesting to see 3 people in that episode who would later become better known (Patrick Newell who would play "Mother" in the series, Juliet Harmer who a year later be Georgina Jones in Adam Adamant, and Terence Alexander best known in Bergerac).

Summer, the weather here has been quite pleasant, some blue sky, slightly windy but nothing noticable. It is forecast to get windier but nowhere near as bad as forecast for the north.

I forgot to mention the other day that the trident which had gone missing before Christmas from the statue of Neptune in Cheltenham was found in a garden in Painswick a few days ago with a note of apology "we were drunk and there was no harm meant - we're sincerely sorry". The Cheltenham Council say that it's still going to cost £5000 to repair the damage done.

Ouch that's a very expensive drunken mistake EL, nice of them to apologise but really the council doesn't need the extra expense especially at times like this.

I hope the wind isn't going to be as bad they forecast, especially in the North and over the Border.
