Definitely Thank you Summer

One of the highlights of the day yesterday was sitting next to the oldest member of our little housegroup when we were eating.  She does my heart good, in her late 90's and still enjoys a good giggle, she is the sweetest soul

Her husband had been doing his own rax return and had wrongly included her interest on his return.

So I rang HMRC about this and suggested I just provide them with the information for the last 3 tax years rather from what may be many years ago. They seemed to be prepared to accept this. So I'm hoping that they will see sense and close their enquiry when I reply to them.

Thank goodness they have you to look after their interests, El.

I missed this, poor lady EL, she really doesn't need the worry of this hanging over her does she?

squiggle

Squiggle, it does our hearts good to hear of people still able to have a good giggle.

Skylark, I'm glad your neighbour opposite has taken down those circular lights. As you know photosensitivity to flashing lights can also cause migraines. And people suffering from vertigo can become more sensitive to flashing lights which could well be why the lights affected you more.

I really don't know what HMRC are thinking about with that letter. I waited an hour before ringing them as if I had rung straight away I might have blown up at them.

I'm off to see a client in a few minutes.

El Loro

Squiggle, my elderly client isn't aware of the letter from HMRC. Her daughter has power of attorney and I'm dealing with her. The daughter is the sort of person who is well organised and will be able to get the information I need without causing stress to her mother.

It would be a different matter if I was needing the information going back quite possibly over half a century

Thank goodness for that, and as Yogi says it is good that you are able to deal with it for them.

Skylark I am glad the flashing spinning lights have been taken down, they sound like they could really be damaging for some people.

Hope we are all on course - may have to go into the town (Glasgow) on Mon for one final gift. Clueless at the minute. Got the frames today so that'll be a diy job and saved a few quid for the mulled wine.

Have a good weekend ye all

Evening Velvet.

I'm pretty organised this year, but I'll likely end up running about at the last minute to get something I've forgotten.

You have a good weekend too.

I've amended my Sainsburys order loads of times this week - it's due for delivery tomorrow, and today, after much muttering and running through lists in my head I remembered bay leaves, I hope I've thought of everything now but of course that's not very likely

I'll keep my fingers crossed for both of us that we haven't forgotten anything else.

You know there will always be someone in here to have a natter with, anytime you want over Christmas

No probs thanks, and hope those who feel lonely over the period will do. I do not but i feel for those who do.

*night owls* aw sorry to have missed you all! Sweetest of dreams everyone

El, well done on calming yourself before ringing HMRC and I'm pleased you can sort out the mess for your client

Skylark, thank goodness! I'm glad those lights are down

Nice to see moonie pop in, hope you're looking after yourself- come back soon

Yogi, I mysteriously lose the ability to count when in close range of a tin of chocolates

Velvet I hope you have a good day out and find what you're looking for

Squiggle, older people like that really are heart warming
~Sparkling Summer~

Good morning everyone, still ever so windy here, I am sure they said on the forecast that it would be less windy WRONG!

Sounds like a busy happy day Yogi.  I am getting the spare bedroom ready for my daughter and probably youngest grandson too.  My daughter will be staying a couple of days and my grandsons will come and go.

Enjoy your day everyone - I hope your Christmas preparations are all coming together nicely

Good morning
Sorry I didn't get on yesterday; we had a record breaking day at work, followed by a hot bath, watching strictly and promptly falling asleep!

I've got a lot to get done today but I'll pop in when I can

El you poor thing I hope it's a quick one rather than the mutant strain, rest as much as you can and keep drinking fluids

Ros I hope you're on the mend, it certainly feels like you've had that cold forever!

Squiggle I'm excited for you with your guests arriving, and your merry xmas pic from yesterday is adorable
~Sparkling Summer~

Good morning everyone.

Weather is still very windy, with intermittent showers.

El, take care of yourself and I hope you soon feel better.

Will your brother be arriving soon, so there is someone to look after you?

I know this is a busy time of year for you, Summer. I hope you still have plenty of energy left to enjoy Christmas.

Ros, that horrible cold has been doing the rounds up here too.

Have a good day everyone.

Yogi19

Good morning everyone

I know from whom I caught this bug and got symptoms in 1-2 days rather than the 3-4 days so it's closer to a flu fug rather than a cold bug. My brother had been due to arrive for Christmas on Tuesday afternoon. If he came, I would still be infectious and he would start coming down with it himself on Christmas Day. I've already let him know to give him a chance of making alternative arrangements,
