 Everyone.
Just read the article El, the sentence wasnt long enough, in my opinion. The poor wee soul says he is remorseful that he will be spending Christmas in prison

Anyway hope you are all getting over the cold and various ailments.Nice to see you moonie, take care and look after yourself x
I have been cleaning my windows, just one left to do. Having a cuppa just now and one of those cookies would go down well with it El
Have a lovely day with PB, Yogi x
Hope you not too busy Summer, and can get a bit of a sit down x
squiggle, hope you having a good day x
Weather here calmed down, but cold, and very bad icy patches on pavements, so i have been very careful walking!

Well thats the cleaning done . Tree going up tomorrow.
Was at Charity shop this morning, looking around the 2nd hand books and found Steven Fry,s More Fool Me for 50p ! Said to the lady at counter that this book is just recently been published, hardback ÂĢ25 , didnt look like been read, but she maintained it was 50p . So bought it, but not comfortable paying that for it, to be honest, so will go back and put a couple of pounds in the box. Will feel better!
Hope you all having a good evening xx

Good morning, milder but overcast & damp here today.

I've got oven cleaner working away as I type and i'm about to tackle my bookkeeping while it works it's magic. I went grocery shopping last night and picked up everything I need to make my annual chrustmas cookies, which will make next weekend a lot easier
I can't believe how close it is now!

Skylark I hope you enjoy decorating your tree

Squiggle & El, I hope today's services are heart warming and inspiring

Yogi I hope you slept well and that you enjoyed gift wrapping

Moonie & velvet I hope you're both having a relaxing Sunday

The best laid plans the car wouldn't start - the boot lid slightly open again and it drains the courtesy lamp.  It's so hard to see and the silly thing is I drove all the way home on Wednesday from the nearest big town and it doesn't fly up.  A real nuisance but luckily I bought the trickle charger and my grandson will come over and put the battery on charge.  Plan B for all the dropping off etc that I had planned.

squiggle

Summer, I hope your Christmas cookies go well

Squiggle. that's a nuisance and very inconvenient. Hopefully your grandson can get your car battery charged up today so that you are able to use the car again.

The organ at church started playing up towards the end of the service today. We could hear the sound of what sounds like a pump pumping away and the music cut out. After the service the organist had to switch the electrics off to the organ to stop the sound. We are currently having a new lighting sytem installed and we think that this may have caused the problem. Hopefully it can be sorted out quickly as there are carol services for the church and the local schools in this coming week. We do have a piano but it would be a pity if the organ is out of action.

*night owls* popping in to wish everyone sweet dreams I've just arrived home after a wonderful journey to the North Pole, on board the Polar Express!! we've had a superb evening

Oh crumbs squiggle & El I hope your car is soon charged back up, squiggle, these things easily happen don't they thank goodness you had a plan b

El, I hope the organ is easily fixed and can be done in time for christmas
~Sparkling Summer~

Good morning everyone.

Weather up here is damp and dreich.

Squiggle, I hope your grandson was able to recharge your car battery for you.

El, I hope the church organ is sorted as soon as possible. It's good that there is a piano as a standby though.

Summer, I'm glad you enjoyed your trip on the polar express, it sounds like a fun time.

Moonie, it's so good to see you pop in for a quick visit. I hope you are soon well enough to return on a full time basis.

Skylark, most charity shops near us have a set price for books, regardless of how old or new the books are (hardback being slightly more expensive than paperback) which may be why you were able to get such a bargain. It's kind of you to make an extra donation.

Have a good day everyone.

I agree with what El said, it sounds like you may have a problem with the battery, Squiggle. I hope you can get it sorted soon.

Do you both think so? How worrying.  It charged fine a few weeks ago and is not all that old.  I will wait and see but of course I don't know how slow the 'trickle' is on this particular trickle charger.  It was connected for several days last time and has not yet been on charge for 24 hours yet as my grandson only came yesterday at 4.

Squiggle, you must be pleased with the condition of your car. You are obviously a careful driver and your car mechanic has done a good job of maintaining it over the years. The problem with modern cars is that they are far more reliant on internal electonics so have more things which can go wrong.

Exactly EL, that's what the mechanics say, they love working on my car, it's proper mechanical work rather than computer stuff.

I am glad the Nativity went well Skylark, I was so disappointed to miss it yesterday and you are quite right I could really do without any further expense I have already had the top drawer in the kitchen go wrong, the front broke away from the rest of the drawer and now I have to have a whole new carcass.

I'm sure she was fabulous, no wonder you filled up

Haha, you remind me of my mum. I remember being shocked when she admitted she used to redo the tree once we had gone to bed.
