Squiggle, that's sad news. She must have had symptoms for some time and it sounds as if she may have left it too late before going to her doctor.

Speculation on the BBC news today about who and where the first woman bishop in the C of E will be. The Southwell & Nottingham diocese is the first which could, and then Gloucester. My aunt, the nun, lives in Southwell very near the cathedral.
One of the women mentioned is Vivienne Faull. She became a chaplain at Gloucester cathedral in 1990 and was one of the first women to be ordained as a priest in 1994. I was at that service and I have met her when she came to our church. She's now the Dean of York.

It would not be surprising if she was one of those interviewed for the position at Gloucester. It will be quite some time before any announcement is made. Interviews early January, annoucement around Easter.
Whoever is selected will be because they are the right person. It would be wrong to rush to become the first diocese to appoint a woman bishop.
The view from my window at this present moment looks a bit like this though the top half of the photo is more vivid that my view but the bottom half is similar though I have houses rather than a church.
I am glad the funeral went well EL I can't see an image in your last post, though it could be just my computer.
Squiggle, I'll post a link to my picture as it's quite attractive.

Oh dear it told me it was forbidden EL, not having much luck am I?
Squiggle, I can't see my picture either now and I get the same message as you do when I click on the link. So it's something to do with the site storing the picture.
It was of an attractive picture called "Streaky Red Sky at Sunset - Dusk Sky Wallpaper". If you do a Google image search on that it's the only result.
Summer, the northerly wind is making it feel quite cold here. There's quite a lot of cloud but not as dark as yesterday. I'm going to a funeral service later this morning of someone at my church who died suddenly from a brain hemorrhage. Only 64. I also knew her 2 daughters who used to be servers at the church.
aww this is so sad no age
squiggle - your news is sad as well
sorry EL post is forbidden-was looking forward to seeing your wall paper -couldn't see you photo either
night everybody and summer
Good morning everyone
Sunny but cold and frosty here.
I'll put a link to the page with the picture I tried to post yesterday rather than a link direct to the picture.

That's a lovely picture EL, well done.
Enjoy your day everyone
I wouldn't want to step in a puddle if I was wearing those
That might be an acquired taste EL!

Interesting article and Youtube clip about the 3D printing of a portrait of the US president:

I've just had someone knocking on the door saying he was from the British Heart Foundation and was talking about a type of which which can mend its heart.
I had heard of this before and told him but I wasn't going to start signing up to give money as I give quite a lot of money to charities as it is.
This is what it would be about - it's a zebra fish and the ad is 3 years old:

I'm off to see a client.
I hope you have a good evening and a welcome back to Yogi if she gets back today.
I thought the 3D portraits a little creepy, perhaps it's just me.
A worthy cause The British Heart Foundation EL but I agree it's a big commitment taking out a direct debit. A little girl I have been sponsoring has just graduated so my direct debit for that will come to an end. I am thinking, when I can, of supporting Well Found which provides clean water to people in Africa. It was started by a millionaire so he ensures that every penny that people give goes straight to provide the wells, he takes care of expenses.
Squiggle, my parents had a few small busts of famous composers such as Bach. They looked similar to this:
To me, they are similar to the one of Obama.
The WellFound charity is a good one to support
night everybody in here and summer if she pops in
Good morning everyone.
I hope everyone is well and you have all behaved yourselves in my absence.
Weather is dry but it's too dark to know anything else.
Grocery shopping and perhaps some gift shopping today. Have a good day everyone.
Good morning everyone
Back to cloudy conditions here but mainly dry.
Welcome back Yogi. I think we behaved well during your absence but .....

Glad to hear it, El.
Youtube has had to increase its counter of the number of times a clip has been watched from 2,147,483,647 (which in binary is 31 1s) to 9,223,372,036,854,775,808 (which in binary is 1 followed by 63 0s).
It's all becasue of one clip. No prizes for guessing which one

Oh that one! Not my cup of tea.
Oh that one! Not my cup of tea.
Not mine either which is why I posted a link rather than embed it.
Squiggle, when I saw this article posted yesterday I was reminded of your grandson and thinking it's just as well that he had his shoulder operation before these changes by the NHS in Devon.
