Yogi, I have frost envy, I bet it's pretty!
Squiggle, I'm loving The Christmas Cookie club (that you recommended last year) the little introductions on ingredients before each chapter, are enchanting. Cinnamon in particular was fascinating!
Good morning everyone
1000% cloud cover here and very dark.
A new dinosaur species has been identified:
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/scie...environment-30197086
For a dinosaur it looks quite cute
Talking of cute dinosaurs, there's this:
Gertie the Dinosaur was made 100 years ago in 1914 and is believed to be the first cartoon,
Good morning everyone, Yogi your frosty morning reminded me of Summer's lovely frosted rose picture from last year
Cute dinosaurs EL. No frost here this morning, very cloudy with a definite threat of rain.
Enjoy your day everyone

I thought Gertie was going to eat him at the end. lol

Beautiful pic, Squiggle.
Summer took it last year, I loved it so much I uploaded it to Photobucket, it's gorgeous isn't it? Clever Summer.

In the original Jurassic Park film there's an educational short shoing in the park featuring an animated dinosaur which is a nod to Gertie the Dinosaur.

It is really pretty.
I see that 2001: A Space Odyssey is being re-released in cinemas from 28 November.
That is the one film which has to be seen in a cinema. Watching it on television is almost pointless as the effect is dwarfed. I think it's getting a general release and will be in most of the Cineworld cinemas from 4 December.
I have seen it in a cinema years ago and it's an amazing experience. Although it has a U certificate it's a bit much for very young children.
I see that a certain well known singer will be giving a concert in Gloucester next June. I may hear him from where I live.
If I say that he wrote songs with Tim Rice for a Disney film, that should be enough for you to know who it is.
Afternoon Buddies
Cold and drizzly here
Still, shopping done so that's me in for the rest of the day
Have a great day everyone. I won't be back again until Thursday now, so have a great couple of days lovely people

Afternoon Moonie.
It started off frosty but is now very foggy up here.
Hope you have a great day too, see you when you come back on Thursday.

Lion King?
Yes. I think you know who I'm referring to
Moonie enjoy! Look forward to seeing you on Thursday.
How exciting EL, I take it that you may be able to hear EJ?
Squiggle, I would expect to hear some of EJ in the distance. I live less than a mile away from where the concert will be. It would be the louder songs I would hear rather than the quieter reflective ones.

Afternoon Velvet.
My day has been good and I've managed to buy another couple of Christmas presents from the list.
Hope your day has been good too.
Afternoon Yogi
Well done on the pressies I've been in the garage hiving the boxes of negatives off and located the (antique ) projector. I suppose I better get on this later tonight.
It truly is the most wonderful time of the year though The tree'll be up this time next week
Sorry Velvet, I got distracted by a phone call.
Are you looking out the negatives for a particular reason?
It is the most wonderful time of the year, I love it!
I'm going to put up the tree a bit earlier this year, as I'm sure PB will love it. Hubby bought me a couple of little colour changing ornaments last week - one santa and one snowman - and the little minx went off home with the santa.
Aye, you'll have a great time with PB as she gets older and the rest of the clan too I always buy into it - sis on holiday, the creative giving, church the lot
I'm gonna get the negs blown up in print and framed Yogi. They're slides but the same thing. Trying to think out the box this year
I've got you a wee Nicorla doll. I'll no spoil it if I say I got it in Haiti
The framed prints will be fabulous.
lol Can I stick pins in the doll?

The pins are solid silver
Excellent.
Off to get some dinner, will be back later.
Squiggle I had forgotten that picture, thank you for sharing it again. That really was a beautiful morning still no frost here yet, I'm hoping we get one soon.
I've got bigger car problems than expected, so have spent the evening sorting out an alternative way of getting to work in the morning.
Here's one of my wreaths that I finished today;
I really enjoyed it
The wreath is beautiful! Absolutely gorgeous, you are so good at making things.
I hope you get your car sorted out soon and it doesn't cost an arm and a leg.
I need to go get some sleep, so I'll say goodnight and sweet dreams.
Hugs for Velvet and Ros.
aww night yogi
that is lovely summer - I could never do ti
going myself - night summer and velvet
I hope you both sleep well
I've seen a wreath online that's gorgeous, I'll go find it..
Good morning everyone.
Too dark outside to predict today's weather, but I do know it isn't raining atm.
Summer, the owl wreath would be a great idea for next year.
Have a good day everyone.
Good morning everyone
Murky outside here, rain over night but not now. I have a client to see this morning out in the countryside but at least it's at low levels otherwise I would be driving through cloud.
Fantastic wreaths Summer Well done I hope your car problems get sorted out quickly and the cost isn't too bad.
I hope it's better where you are.
Aw thanks velvet and thank you El
I'm off to see my client. It looks as if the murky conditions have lifted here. Although it is very cloudy, there are a couple of blue patches of sky
Good morning everyone, both wreaths are beautiful Summer, well done on creating yours. Oh no why does everything go wrong just before Christmas, I hope you can get your car fixed quickly and the expense won't be as bad as feared.
Pale blue sky here, no rain forecast, but a slight frost this morning. Still loads of leaves on the trees on the hillside opposite and it's December in a few days, that's unusual surely?
Enjoy your day everyone, and I hope the meeting with your client goes well EL
Thank you squiggle The meeting with my client was straightforward and I didn't go through any fog on my journey.
Most of the trees in my area have shed their leaves now. Squiggle, may be the trees on the hillside were sheltered from the frost?
No the hillside is not sheltered EL and in fact, being near the sea, gets quite a bit of wind, even near the sea some leaves are still clinging on.
Afternoon all. I have returned frm grocery shopping and grabbed something to eat.
Glad your meeting went well, El.
Squiggle, virtually all of the leaves have fallen from the trees up here. It seemed to happen quite suddenly, within the last week or so.
For our Scottish friends link to the 28 pages Smith Commission report published today:
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/shared..._smithcommission.pdf
I had a look at the tax side of the proposals as to whether it could have any effect on my clients. It doesn't look as if it does.
It seems that Scottish income tax will be paid based on people's main place of residence rather than where they work. No mention of what happens to someone who moves to or from Scotland during the course of a tax year. That's one complication not yet resolved as far as I know.
No change to national insurance system, capital gains tax or inheritance tax,
Corporation tax doesn't change. That's a relief as that really could have made life complicated for accountants.
There is a change in the way that VAT receipts are shared but that seems to be dealt with at government level rather than how businesses deal with VAT. Part of the VAT receipts will go to the Scottish government but it will affect the block grant got from the UK government. I can see that getting rather messy and I can see there's the prospect of something happening similar to what recently happened when Brussels charged the UK more money as the UK had done better then expected.
The Gloucester and England rugby union player Billy Twelvetrees got married in June.
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvs...ive-West-Sussex.html
They married in a church in West Sussex being his wife came from.
In case you wonder why I'm posting this, they now live quite close to where I live and the banns were read out in my church. (I don't know him though).
