Hello Velvet, hope life treating you well , and celebrating Nicola,s promotion !

Yes, "Kendra" is showing signs of being an irritant.

Skylark, I have no idea who the annoying female with the annoying US accent would have been. Sounds as if the accent suits the person.

Before I watched the Sky at Night I watched The Murdoch Mysteries on the Drama channel. I know it's been on satellite channels for a few years but on freeview, it's only near the beginning of the second series. Set in Canada in the 1890s and worth watching for anyone who likes a bit of excapist detective stories with a sense of humour and is pre-watershed. Not gruesome, generally just a single victim, and only an hour long including ads.

Boss watched that. Think there's an ex Corrie guy in it - may be wrong

Murdoch's boss is played by Thomas Craig who was Tommy Harris in Coronation Street so well done on spotting that.

You are right, the actor who plays the boss used to be in Corrie and Soldier Soldier too (if I remember correctly)

Lovely busy thread today I only just finished catching up on Jungle from last night.  The one that I find a little annoying is the girl from Towie - she's going to kill herself?  Melanie Sykes is such a sweetheart I can see her winning. I have never struggled to understand any Scots accents but there was a famous clip on years ago with a guy from - was it Aberdeen? - and he spoke so fast and it was difficult to make out a word

As Velvet said, people from Aberdeen and Peterhead often speak in what's known as "Buchan tongue" or "Buchan Doric" and it's really hard to understand, even for other native Scots. It's not only the strange words but the fast speech pattern.

Youngest son's OH is originally from Aberdeen but, luckily, she speaks in a lovely soft, polite accent.

That's sounds lovely.  The guy on the clip was upset about something so he was speaking at a rate of knots.

Dont throw the furniture at me, but I love kendra when I first saw her on TV I couldn't stand her, but then she grew on me and now I think she's a real sweetheart. I didn't know she had gone into the jungle, I've just tuned in.
That Gemma from towie is vile!

Skylark I'm glad you enjoyed the movie, sneaking your own sweets in is the thing to do these days the cinemas should lower their prices.

Squiggle, how interesting that your leaves are down, ours are really half & half.
I still like to kick the leaves with my wellies on
