I bet you know more about car mechanics than hubby. He knows where the petrol and water goes and that's it!

Well, yeah

My dad was always tinkering with cars. I learned from his mistakes

That's a good way to learn.

Luckily, hubby knows a good mechanic.

Good morning wet & dreary here but I have to say that I think this has been the prettiest autumn in several years. The leaves have been a beautiful colour for the longest duration I can remember

Tea last night was lovely but we stayed out far too late and I'm very tired this morning

I hope you all slept well and am sure you're happy with the strictly result this week
~Sparkling Summer~

Good morning everyone, very wet here. As I look across the hillside there are still loads of leaves on the trees, and as you say Summer the colours are so pretty this year.  On this side of the valley most of my trees have lost their leaves already, odd that there should be such a discrepancy.

I hope your day is not too busy Summer so that maybe you can 40 winks to catch up on your sleep.  I hope it stays dry for your errands Yogi.  Sounds like it was a good service EL, my goodness that was a short sermon, was it interesting too?

How was the film Skylark?  I hope you and GD enjoyed it, these little outings make for memories that last a lifetime

Enjoy your day everyone

squiggle

Morning all

Weather here awful, it hasnt stopped raining since yesterday evening.
Granddaughter loves kicking the leaves around with her wellies on. We usually have an assortment in the house, as she picks the the biggest most colourful ones to keep, but they are now soggy with all the rain, so got none
Enjoyed the film, we went to see Nativity 3 , it was all good fun. We shared a chocolate Santa! If the cost of cinema sweets werent so outrageously expensive we wouldnt have to sneak our own munchies in.
Hope you not too tired at work , Summer.
Have a good day all xx

Squiggle, sermons in my church tend to be around 10 to 15 minutes long. I wasn't keeping track of how long yesterdays took but it couldn't have been 30 minutes.

The Gospel for yesterday in the C of E was Matthew 25 v 14-30 known as the parable of the talents. That of course is perfect for a confirmation service and the bishop's sermon was based on that. He even managed to make reference to the Rosetta probe landing on the comet to demonstrate that people's talents can take years for the results to show.

In Jesus's time talents were coins so the parable is on the surface Jesus is promoting entreprenurialship, and if one is unable to, then investing the money. Woe betides those who just do nothing with the money. In reality he was referring to the gifts and abilities that God has given us. We should use them as well as we are able to rather than to do nothing.

Skylark, I'm glad you enjoyed Nativity 3. I saw the first one of television which I enjoyed. I think the cinemas make a lot of money in selling sweets and drinks and I don't blame you for smuggling in a chocolate Santa.

It does sound very wet in your area, it's soggy here as well though I tend not to go kicking leaves around nowadays (I used to when I was a lot younger).

Skylark, I don't blame you for taking your own munchies to the cinema. Everyone I know does the same, as the cinema prices for sweets and drinks is extortionate.

I'm glad you and granddaughter enjoyed the film.

Summer, I agree with you about the autumn colours, they are particularly lovely this year. I hope today isn't too busy for you, as you're feeling a bit tired.

It stayed dry for me, thanks Squiggle, and the errands are all done.

El, I've never used the Metcheck weather site, is it usually pretty accurate?

Yogi19

Yogi, I only use the Metcheck one as an alternative to the Met Office and BBC ones. The one plus it has is that it gives an indication of the quantity of rain to fall in a period of time rather than just the likelyhood. It's so so on accuracy but that's the case with other weather sites. For reasons best know to itself it also gives daily forecasts for the next 6 months. As it's impossible to forecast at all accurately for more than 5 days, that is totally unreliable

I barely trust forecasters to predict the weather for tomorrow, never mind six months ahead.

Very dark and gloomy here just now. Looks like more rain to come, its very mild though.
Going to have a read through the Jungle thread, i fell asleep  x

Even though I didn't know who half of them were, the jungle is shaping up to be a good one, and the thread is a great laugh.

Yogi19

The best part is reading the threads !
Yes i know you arent a fan of reality shows El, x
The last thing i remember before falling asleep was a rather annoying US accent, attached to a rather annoying female   Then was awake half the night with rain battering my windows.
