I suppose the fact that we like the same type of programme is not surprising really Yogi. I think the whole of our little group have very similar tastes.

I think I'd have been more surprised if we didn't like the same programmes.
Still cannot quote (will it ever get sorted out for IE users?) but I agree with you Yogi. It is not surprising how similar we are. We just seem to know each other's tastes very well. Spooky!!!
Good morning everyone
It's not raining

Good morning everyone, its not raining here either, I do hope we get a bit of sun later today, everywhere is so soggy
Afternoon El Loro and Squiggle. Love the picture!! It's yet another dull, wet day here today. Will we ever get some sunshine and blue sky?? I've left a short update re No.1 son in our PM.
I have another busy weekend coming up but will drop in as and when I can. Lots of love to all my other lovely buddies.

Good afternoon everyone.
The family were all at home this morning, so I couldn't get a minute's peace to come on the forum.
Squiggle, I love that pic.

Joyron, I've replied.
Here, we have had some sun, at although it's now almost dark, I can see there are few clouds in the sky. Apart from a brief shower, it's been dry today. But we all know that there's a lot of rain from the north tomorrow heading south for Saturday night and Sunday. Ant a couple of days later, it's back to the cold, but comparatively dry, so I don't think it's a rerun of the pre-Christmas snow and extreme cold.

Evening all.
It has been a bit milder here today, which is lucky as my new central heating system isn't working. We had a new timer and thermostat installed yesterday and there seems to be a fault somewhere. I haven't managed to get in touch with the electrician who fitted it yet, so we are back to the wee heaters, for the moment.

Thank goodness its a bit milder Yogi, I hope the electrician manages to get it fixed quickly, what a bother.
Good morning everyone
Joyron, I hope your electrician sorts out the timer problem by early next week as it looks as if by Tuesday or Wednesday it's going to get cold again (not the extreme cold though).
It's dry at present, but very cloudy and rather windy.

Good morning El Loro. Hope this finds you well. I hope all my other lovely buddies are looking forward to a nice weekend, whatever you are up to. I think you have got me muddled with Yogi with regard to the electrical problems El Loro!!
I will pass on the information regarding the medication to No.1 son today. I'm sure he will be interested to have a look at the website.
It's dismal and very windy here today, but hopefully we won't get any rain. I bought some daffodils from the supermarket yesterday. Yes I know they are forced and too early but it did make me smile when I came down this morning to find them in full bloom. Lovely.

Good morning Squiggle, El Loro and Joyron.
I'm happy to tell you the heating problem has been sorted. The electrician telephoned me last night and the problem was an over sensitive thermostat. I just had to turn it down a couple of degrees and everything worked fine again.
It's pouring with rain up here, and dark and miserable. Hubby and I are going out shopping later today, so at least we'll be indoors.
I notice Skylark hasn't been here for a few days. I hope her flu hasn't got worse.
I'll be back later for a catch-up.

Good morning everyone, wouldn't it be lovely if every problem in life was so easy to fix as Yogi's over-sensitive thermostat! I do hope it doesn't get too cold again , I have got my sights firmly fixed on Spring!
Thank you so much for that lovely picture Squiggle. I don't know why but seeing daffodils just makes me smile, and lifts my heart.
Glad the thermostat problem has got sorted Yogi. Enjoy your shopping trip.
I too hope that Skylark is okay. Hopefully she will be back with us soon.

I agree Joyron daffodils and primroses too. Our lanes down here in Devon are awash with primroses in the spring and I love it.
Skylark love, thinking of you, stop by and say hello when you can

Joyron, yes I'm getting your heating headaches mixed up with Yogi's
Yogi, I'm glad that it was a simple thing to sort out with the thermostat.
Skylark, I hope you are recovering from the flu
Squiggle, I like your picture of daffodils. In a survey, they were voted in as the county flower of Gloucestershire. Dymock, which is a few miles from where I live, is well known for its daffodils.
I think you will like this clip from there.

Lovely pic, Squiggle. I love spring flowers - bluebells, snowdrops, tulips, daffidils and primroses are among my favourites.
El, I don't think I've ever seen so many daffodils in one place.
The weather here is so bad (blustery winds and pouring rain) that we have postponed our shopping trip.

Lovely clip of the daffodils EL, I still haven't worked out how to embed properly but here is a link to Snowdrop Valley on Exmoor, a few miles from where I live, I agree Yogi I love all the spring flowers best. Lets hope we get some better weather in the week for you to make your shopping trip.

When I was young, there were a couple of years when we stayed at Blue Anchor which can't be that far away from you.
To embed a Youtube clip, in the Youtube clip screen, click on Share (not Embed), The address of the clip will then be shown already highlighted below the Share button, but if not then highlight it. Then press Ctrl C to copy the address.
Come back to here and then in the Post Reply Box, click on the 4th icon from the right, the one which looks like a couple of film frames. In the File/URL box press Ctrl V to past the address in the box.
I then tab from that box to the next box, and in a couple of seconds the clip picture appears. You can play about with the dimensions but I generally leave that line blank. Then click the Insert button. You come back to the Post Reply screen and you will see an empty box where the clip will be shown. You do not see the clip appear on this screen.
When you click the Submit Reply box, you will see the film appear in your posted reply.

Thank you so much for the lovely pictures, and the clip El Loro. I really enjoyed that. Surely spring cannot be THAT far away. I cannot wait.
I'm going to give it a go

The music for Spring Flowers is Answer by Sarah McLachlan and the music for Good Morning, God is by David Arkenstone - it's called Cailleach's Whisper from his album The Celtic Book of Days.

Hi , thanks for your good wishes, feeling a lot better, but still not 100%. The computer been playing up for a while, then the screen went all ziggy zaggy and i couldnt get into the internet. My daughter,s friend has fixed it, dont ask me what the problem was, he gave me a lengthy explaination, and i just looked all intelligent and nodded in the right places Nice to be back, hope you are all well

Hi El, thanks, yes its awful, how did we ever live without it? This is really on its last legs, cant afford a new one at the minute. Its still very slow tho, but at least its working, touch wood
Nice to see you back again Skylark, we were worried you were still ill
I have just watched the repeat of 100 Years of the London Palladium which I must have missed the first time around. What a great show! It took me back to my childhood and when I was courting my future husband. We don't have stars like that any more! There were some wonderful moments, Danny Kaye, Dickie Valentine, Adam Faith, a really young Cliff Richard and The Shadows. Judy Garland, Laurel & Hardy, a really really young Julie Andrews, the Queen Mum was so glamorous! Sammy Davis Junior, Nat King Cole and many more. And I had forgotten that my dad used to take us to see the pantomime there every year, lovely memories.

Hi squiggle, nice to see you too. Glad you enjoyed your show, the days of Variety have gone now, when you could sit with the kids and have a good old laugh, without cringing. Plus celebrity meant being a huge star that worked to the top.
Skylark, welcome back - we missed you. Glad you are feeling a bit better.

Awww thanks Yogi, nice to see you too
Did your son have a nice birthday?
Former Member
He had a lovely birthday thanks Yogi, although he wasnt feeling well, and still on his course of meds. We had a tea party for him , he loved it and blew out his candles with the wee one, she thought it was her birthday, but never mind ! Had some family down, i felt exhaused but held it together, then collapsed! There was some lager in the fridge from New Year, he gave a hint but no! He is 17 now and thinks its ok, not on meds and no anyway !

You can't blame the lad for trying, but you were right to stick to your guns.Just wait till next year though.

He wants driving lessons....thats a worry , i think 17 is too young to be driving a car IMO
It's a tricky one Skylark. I know so many young lads who learned to drive at 17, and drove like lunatics for years. My eldest was 19 when he passed his test, and still drove far too fast, for my liking ( he is much better now, but he's 28). Youngest son (22) is due to sit his test soon, and although I hope he won't be an idiot behind the wheel, I'll still worry about him.

Oh i know Yogi, i think he is sensible and we talk all the time, but when at 17 going out with their pals, they want to show off, they think they are invinsible. Who would be a mother eh? It was so nice when they were in the cot, at least we knew they were safe! I must stop worrying !! No wonder i dont sleep and feel exhausted all the time

We didn't realise then, that those were the easiest days.
