One seriously complicated watch is to be auctioned off:

The price is astronomic though.
Eldest son has a bit of a watch fetish but I can't see him buying that one.

Keira was the same for a couple of days, but she seems to have got with the programme now.
Someone I know used to have a cat who could read the time. The cat would wake her up in the morning at the same time to be let out and when the clocks went back or forwards an hour, the cat would adjust for that hour
Clever cat EL Some years I have more trouble adjusting than others, no idea why.

Good morning everyone.
Weather looks dreary again today.
I fell asleep around 9.30pm and woke at 5.30am, so I had a better night's sleep. I need to go off and catch up with the second half of The Missing.
Summer, that little owl is so sweet!
Have a good day everyone.
Good morning everyone
Rained here through the night, not raining at this time but heavy cloud indicates more rain to come.
I got a phone call yesterday from the dentists asking me if I could go in for my scale & polish this morning instead of in 2 weeks time. So I'll be of there in a while. I've mentioned before that my dentist is Polish and I have 2 clients who are also Polish dentists. One of those clients told me last week that my dentist had returned to Poland a couple of weeks ago. So when the surgery rang me yesterday I asked about that and was told that my dentist was srill there
Good morning everyone, I am glad you had a better night's sleep Yogi. Hope all goes well at the dentist EL, do they know already that you don't need any other treatment? Brilliant! My dentist is Hungarian, he has also qualified as a doctor and he says that in order to become a dentist in Hungary you first need to qualify as a doctor, wow that does seem impressive and he does appear very knowledgeable. He always checks the lymph glands in your neck when he does your check-up, which is reassuring.
Enjoy your day everyone
It's a great pic, isn't it?
I'm holding off for a dry spell before I take Keira out. Her coat takes hours to dry naturally and she hates the hairdryer, so I try to avoid walks in the rain at all costs.
Hope all goes well at the dentist, El.
Squiggle, all went well with the scaling at the dentist. There's no other treatment in the pipeline at present, just the routine checkup in January. The dental hygienist had changed and the new one said that as there's no staining on my teeth, there's little point in the polish as that will just go as soon as I brush my teeth again. I am using an electric toothbrush which is more vigorous than an ordinary brush.
Both of the dentists at my surgery call themselves Dr and have BDS degrees. This is common in this country but the Advertising Standards Authority did express concern that the use of Dr could be misleading though the dental bodies disagree with that, In any case my dentist did check my lymph glands last time so is like yours.
You will want to see the winning portrait photo of the Taylor Wessing prize.

It's easy to see why it won and it's a stunner.

I use an electric toothbrush too EL, on the recommendation of a hygienist at my former dentist. What a difference it made, I was well on the way to gum disease and now my dentist always tells me I have excellent gums. I am glad there's nothing to do until January, such good news.
Thank you squiggle
Besides using an electric toothbrush I also use Tepe inderdental sticks. The hygienist recommended that I switch from blue 0.6mm ones to yellow 0.7mm ones. There's less plaque now than there used to be which means that the gap between teeth is a bit bigger, hence the yellow ones should now be more effective.
Afternoon Velvet.
Goodnight and sweet dreams everyone.
Hugs for the night owls.
night yogi and summer
Good morning everyone.
Sky looks grey and threatening. Anticipating another rainy day.
I slept well last night but must have been lying awkwardly as my neck is aching and I have a bouncing sore head. I've taken a couple of parecetamol and had a cup of tea so hopefully the headache will shift.
Grocery shopping planned for later. No cakes as I'm being good atm.
Have a good day everyone.
Good morning everyone
Cloudy but dry here, rain forecast during the day.
Yogi, I hope your headache goes quickly
Good morning everyone, really threatening grey clouds this morning, but the good news is that it is forecast to be the last wet day for a little while, over the weekend anyway
Sorry to hear you slept awkwardly Yogi, I sleep with a neck support pillow, I have done for the last 30 years or so and it keeps my head in the correct position. I hope your neck pain eases and the paracetamol kick in soon.
I also use the Teepee brushes, yellow and pink for me 0.7 and 0.4 but I also use the floss, it's the little bits of food stuck between the teeth that can cause such awful pain, such a relief when you get them out again.
Enjoy your day everyone
I love this - aww!
And this
I love this - aww!
Great clip, squiggle
It reminded me that the other day on the BBC red button I read about film having been found of the world's first bungee jump.

It was from the Clifton Suspension Bridge on 1 April 1979.
And this
Powerful and moving and really happened:
