I've been waiting for someone else to do it.
So was I

I wanted to do something a bit special for that post, and I have worked out how to play Youtube clips automatically whenever anyone loads that page. Obviously I would only keep it on for a day or so as else it would irritate people, but I may leave it as it is as being on the bottom of the previous page means that it won't play on this new page.

Hi everyone, that was lovely El, i wondered what it was when i logged in. I was waiting too for someone else!   Poor Joyron, i will sort out Mr Grumpy, she just has to give me the nod   Well i had a sleep, but to be honest feel rotten, going to make a cuppa and go to bed. My head feels like it doesnt belong to me . I feel i have let the team down at work, as they are so short staffed, but i couldnt go in for fear of passing it on. Hopefully i will feel better tomoro

I said it would be El Loro who posted the 5000th post!!!  Just managed to get MY laptop back from hubby so that I can post in the kitchen; away from prying eyes!!  Hubby seems to get more and more grumpy as each day passes.  Not quite sure what the problem is but I hope it soon passes.  Cannot post any emotions on the laptop so I will just send you all loads of hugs and kisses.

Good afternoon everyone

Joyron, if your hubby was recovering from real flu rather than a cold over the Christmas period, it could easily make him tired after not a lot of work, and so make him grumpy. If this was the case, you could ask a pharmacist their advice, possibly taking multivitamins. It takes some weeks to fully recover from flu and it can easily leave you tired and depressed.

Hi all, feel a bit better this morning, thanks, got my temperature down which is half the battle. Managed to get a GP appointment later today, which on a Monday is not short of a miracle!  Took the dog for a little stroll this morning, its not that cold  but very very slippy underfoot, in certain parts. Roll on the summer, is all i can say

Got some rubbish left over from the central heating refit, so I'm off to the tip the recycling centre
In my area there are at least 2 lots of rag and bone men who go round in their vans on a weekly basis. One of them just uses the van horn once every 5 seconds as he slowly drives around. That's bad enough, but the other one is unbelievably painful. I found this clip on Youtube with a series of rag & bone men. The one I mean runs from about 45 seconds from the start to about 1 minute 35 seconds. You may need to turn up the volume to hear it, but it is painful so be warned

This is one which I'm not going to have it play automatically you will be glad to know.

I'm sorry to hear you are down with flu, Skylark . I had assumed that as a nurse you would have been given the flu jab. Get well soon

Apparently rag and bone men operate in the north and west Midlands, and have now extended further south into this part of Gloucestershire. They tend to be in the poorer parts of the country. There must be a demand for them, but it's a bit odd considering that Gloucester has a recycling policy, and the council will collect larger items from your house if you ring them.

Good evening everyone.    Sorry to hear you are so poorly Skylark, but at least now you know why!!

Sorry I've not been about but much  in all the confusion and muddle yesterday I forgot to set my Sky+ box for Lark Rise to Candleford and Wild and Heart.     I KNOW it sounds a rather petty but I've been looking forward to these programmes coming back.  Managed to record Larkrise to my Windows Media Player, so hopefully I can watch that later this week.  There does not seem to be an option to save Wild at Heart, only watch through the ITV player, which I will try doing in the next few days.

Left message on PM re No.1 son.

I like Lark Rise to Candelford, it's the sort of programme which suits a Sunday evening audience. I missed the last series as it started whilst I was in hospital. I hoped they would repeat it, but so far they haven't as far as I know. Luckily, it's the type of series which is easy enough to pick up again. And I think the quality of the acting is high. The only person who I felt didn't really fit was Dawn French in the first series. She may be popular in comedies, but I don't think her acting ability is sufficient to extend beyond comedy IMO.
El Loro
I think you are right about Dawn French El Loro.  Perhaps that's why she didn't last too long.  I now have Lark Rise downloaded to my computer now so I can watch that shortly.  I can get Wild at Heart direct from ITV but need to find the time to sit and watch it!!  For some reason I cannot download, it unlike BBC.  Don't worry my lovely friends.  Having waited some considerable time for these programmes to come back I will not miss the first episodes without a fight!!!  Needless to say the Sky+ box is now properly loaded for the next episodes, with series link!!!
Joyron
I love Larkrise to Candleford too, I am still working my way through the last series as I got very behind when my husband was in hospital.  I do like to savour them too as all the characters are just gems.  I agree that Dawn French was a bit of a jarring element but the rest are just wonderful.  Queenie and Twister are some of my favourites, I love it when they sing.

Sorry that its flu Skylark but now you know you don't need to struggle in to work but can rest and get better.

Joyron, I've looked at the difference between the BBC iPlayer and the ITV player. With the BBC, the programmes on iPlayer are only available to watch for 7 days, so they provide the option to be able to download it and keep it for 30 days. With ITV, the programmes are available to watch for generally 30 days, so reducing the need to provide for a download option. And in the case of Wild at Heart, they will keep it available for 90 days from transmission, so you have plenty of time.

Hi all, thanks i am feeling brighter today although i said that yesterday and by the afternoon had to take to my bed again  Yes i have had my flu jag El, so thats hopefully stopped me from full blown flu, there are so many different strains of it going around, so i am thankful i have got off lightly.
