Skylark, I can certainly understand why it would take ages for your computer to upload as there's tons of updates.

I can imagine there are EL, but once it's done then I am sure you will soon be up and running again Skylark, and can join in again like you used to.
I can't believe that storm is still hanging around. That's over 48 hours now, I don't remember a storm hanging on that long before. I just wish it would push off now.
Seems comp has done its stuff
Sorry you having bad weather squiggle.
Lovely to be back here with the buddies
Good morning everyone
Dry here at present but hefty showers are forecast later.
Squiggle, I hope your storm has eased though there's an area of low pressure to the south west which isn't helping.
Skylark, I'm glad your computer has done its updating
Good morning everyone. I think the storm is still rumbling around somewhere EL, I think it was in Wales last night as I kept seeing flashes from that area. We are getting frequent showers at the moment, some quite heavy and great huge cloud banks blown by a south-westerly wind which, as you will know, is the stormy wind direction. All quite dramatic and would be lovely if I didn't have to go out in it but I do and I have to pick up some people as we go to house group.
I hope everyone manages to stay dry if they do have to venture out today. I would imagine some people's weather is a little less dramatic down here, and certainly I would hope it is for those on holiday
Enjoy your day everyone - I hope the car is running well now EL.
good morning
Morning pirate, it's a bit like this here >>>>>
what's it like where you are?
These coins being issued in the Pacific island of Niue could be very popular. On the obverse (front) is the standard image of the Queen, but the reverse side are images of ..., well, see for yourselves

These coins are unlikely to be worthless
Mickey Mouse money EL?
It looks like this is going to cause lots of headaches http://www.telegraph.co.uk/fin...in-HMRC-blunder.html

Yes, but those coins are unlikely to be worthless
HMRC has a lot to answer for with the imposition of Real Time Information on employers. These errors are not surprising as RTI is a nightmare for many employers. HMRC makes the assumption that all employers are highly skilled with using computers.
The errors will relate mainly to people who don't do tax returns so will have less impact on my clients where I do tax returns.
Afternoon Buddies
Squiggle and Pirate, love your smileys
Cold wet and windy here
Hope you all have a great day no matter what the weather is like
Afternoon, Moonie
It's rather windy here as well, there are showers but so far not like the rain I got caught in yesterday afternoon.
In the morning yesterday, after I had dropped my car off I walked into Cheltenham centre. Part of that walk was down the lower High Street. I saw nothing of what happened about 1Â― hours earlier
http://www.gloucestershireecho...85-detail/story.html
Good heavens EL, those poor people, newly arrived in the area too, thank goodness for the guy who helped the poor man who was stabbed. What a shocking incident in what we all think of as a peaceful area.
Squiggle, the High Street in Cheltenham is quite long. The middle bit is the better known part which is where visitors are likely to go and is prosperous. The part of the High Street which tends to be regarded as the lower High street is where many of the shops are small and less likely to be seen by visitors.
Cheltenham is one of those places that you automatically think of as being a safe haven so it's a shock to hear of violence in a place like that EL.
Hi velvet, nice to see you, hope you haven't been too blown about and rained on today. I was quite lucky and only had a few raindrops just as I was going indoors again.

its a bit calmer now
Goodnight night owls, sleep well and have sweet dreams
Yogi, have a safe journey home tomorrow. Hope you have had a great time
Good morning everyone
Sunny here at present. Showers forecast for later but may be not as hefty as the last couple of days. The wind is certainly less gusty than it has been.
Welcome back Summer. I'm glad you had a lovely trip
Morning peeps
Sweet, nice to have you back and pleased you had a nice time
El, it really cold here but the sun is shining. However, we are promised bad weather later
Have a great day everyone
Good morning everyone, I am glad you had a good time Summer. I think I have similar weather to yours EL, the sky is a beautiful blue at the moment with just a few fluffy white clouds. I am sure the forecast for tomorrow was for thunder so I don't think the storm has gone far. I hope your weather is not too bad later moonie.
Enjoy your day everyone, and safe journey home Yogi.
Squiggle, I think you are right with our weather being similar at present though I think the risk of thunderstorms is not as high in my area as yours.
The Nobel Peace Prize has been announced. I don't think it will come as a surprise to anyone as to who one of the joint winners is. If you need a clue, she's 17 and now lives in Birmingham.

Hi all
i havent disappeared again just having a bother with this old comp, its taking ages to load so gave up! Slightly better today, touch wood! Phoned up the company and they said the modem takes up to 10 days to get its full speed going.
Anyway hope you all well, and not having bad weather this evening. Its not to bad here, thank goodness.
Hi Velvet, thanks xx
Skylark, I hope your modem does start speeding up.
Thanks El. Reminds me of the old record player my mother had that you wound up, wish it would do the same (showing my age slightly!)
Evening all.
Safely home, thanks everyone. Suitcases are empty and washing machine is on!
Had a brilliant time, will give you details later.
Skylark, it is soooo good to see you posting again.
Will be back when I've had something to eat, see you in a bit.

Hi Skylark. Yes, I'm always the same when I get home - everything has to get washed and dried as soon as possible.
Been trying to read back, but as i said, internet very slowwwww. Did you have PB with you, was she fine with the heat? x

Yes, PB came too. She was fine in the heat - factor 40 sunblock, sun hats and DiL fashioned a buggy cover out of a sheet of muslin. We nicknamed her burka baby.
She likes to drink lots anyway, so no worries about dehydrating, and she ate well too.
How is your granddaughter, is she enjoying school?

Aww good. Yes GD fine, she has had her hols with nana. Wasnt keen on the heat when they went to Majorca. She likes the cold ! Very odd child! She doing very good at school, but a tad bored with some stuff as she could count and write quite well when she was 3, so finds it a bit tiring! But she helps others so thats good. Dont want her targeted as a smarty bum , if you know what i mean x

She would get on well with Mr Yogi, as he also prefers the cold to heat.
She's obviously a bright girl and I'm sure you'll keep her grounded so she doesn't become a smarty bum. It's nice that she helps the others - must take after her granny, she has a kind heart.
