Afternoon

Everyone's OK, but Moonie, Yogi, and Summer are taking a few days off (not together) which is why it's quiet at present)

Afternoon from me too   Looking good about the Banksy EL.

PS Well done EL, some of them had me a bit flummoxed, they look so similar when you see them together like that.

And a hello to a popped in moonie from me too

Good morning everyone, very blowy this morning and a little cold.  With a newly installed boiler EL, never having had an automatic system like it before the thing I notice is that you don't notice it I've just left it on factory settings so it comes on and goes off between 6.30am and 10.30 at night but it's never too hot or too cold.  Sounds basic but in practice it works so well, it's a bit of an eye opener.

We had a bit of a storm rumbling around for hours last night, it never came too close, I saw the occasional flash of lightning and heard the odd rumble of thunder but it did go on for a long time.

Enjoy your day everyone, no matter what you're up to

Squiggle, my boiler is also more efficient so that the gas used is less than it used to be. If you ever want to change the settings make sure you have the time to look through the instructions booklet first and then work through the steps needed with the help of that booklet. It's fairly easy but if you do it in a rush it's easy to make mistakes.

Sounds as if somewhere in your area got a soaking last night. Earlier this year there was a terrific storm to the south of Gloucester which lasted a couple of hours one evening. I could see lots of lightning in the distance and almost continuous rumbles of thunder. I later heard that there had been a lot of flooding on the roads near Stonehouse and a supermarket in that area got flooded.

Squiggle, I hope you don't have to go out if it's like that. Apart from being breezy, it's quite sunny here at present though there is a risk of showers this afternoon.

It may take quite some time to see how much gas you saved as last winter was mild so if the coming winter is cold, the gas would be higher anyway. Though if you have gas bills from earlier years then comparison is more reliable.

Thank you velvet, I've re-set the clocks on the kitchen appliances twice today.  I've been out to unplug and re-plug the garden power socket - you have to remove all the snails which have decided that the cover makes the inside lovely and cosy, I have no idea how they get in but there must have been 10 of them in there.  Big ones down to tiny ones - all now evicted. And now I am fair worn out

Had an interesting visitor today.  A baby cock pheasant.  He had all his colouring but hadn't yet grown his tail, must have been this year's baby.  He was very cute.

Yogi's PB would have been out feeding it raisins Squiggle

Moonie

Good morning everyone, it's a nice morning so far but I am pretty sure it will be raining later.

I hope all the work goes well EL and that no further expense crops up.

Moonie I had to smile as I pictured PB's face at seeing quite such a big bird a little bit different to a blackbird.  I often get pheasants here but they are lovely timid birds, I love to watch them and I keep very still.  Most of the bolder birds are very used to me and take no notice whatsoever but I get the feeling the pheasants would be quickly spooked.

Off to M & S to stock up in a bit - goodies!

You are right, Moonie. She has even found some Spanish collared doves to feed in Lanzarote.

Squiggle, glad the diabetic review went well and thanks for the chocolate eclair.

Hugs for El and Velvet too.

I hope Summer and Mr Summer are having a lovely break.

See you all again on Friday.

Thought she may find the odd hungry bird to feed Yogi, bless ïŋ―ïŋ―ïŋ―ïŋ―ïŋ―ïŋ―

Moonie

Huge welcome back to Skylark

Yogi, i'm glad your holiday continues to go well.

Pasas de uva for PB for the birds

I'm back with the car. Going to collect it I caught the bus over to the outskirts of Cheltenham, got out and a couple of minutes later there were a few spots of rain. A couple of seconds later, it became torrential and so I made a dash for a bus shelter and sheltered there for about 10 minutes until the rain eased. I then continued walking though it was still raining. I didn't have an umbrella as it was too gusty for that but I did put on a cap I have. It's about a 30 minute walk so I was a bit damp. The car repairs came to ÂĢ685, so ÂĢ70 cheaper than the estimate.
