Just had a phone call which was a silent one. I checked the number and it's a scammer one where they claim that you've overpaid bank charges and want your bank details so they can repay them.

Straight into my call blocking directory so they will be wasting their time if they ring me again

How does your call blocker work, El? Do they get a "Be off with you!" Message?

good idea but my phone is more boring as it just produces an engaged tone to anyone ringing from the blocked number.

Oh that's even better! It means they might keep trying and trying again to get through, and waste lots of their time.

It's great fun to see the call logs, when you didn't hear a thing - my phone doesn't ring when it's a barred number - sometimes they try for days on end

I look forward to seeing if they repeatedly try to ring me. I think my phone is similar to yours in that I'm not expecting to hear anything, just see the number on the caller display list.

I did a search on cogs and coggy and saw that others have recently had them as well as you. It's possible that the tech people have been tinkering around and Lori may be able to see if the timings tie in.

Squiggle, you may be right about us not seeing the cogs as we aren't around in the evening much. If the tech people are tinkering around with the system as they are in the States their work hours would coincide with our evenings and night time.

It is nice that Brisket's avatar remains. And that the brisket memorial game is continuing as does the renamed film forum.

 

I hope all goes well with Summer's detective work and the reunions

 

One of my clients rang me this morning saying he was going to send me his papers. As he keeps the accounting records in a spreadsheet I asked him to email it to me. It then turned out that although he replies to emails he did not know how to send a new email Luckily he has Windows 7 as I do, uses Windows Live Mail as I do, so I was able to talk him through it. Hopefully he will remember that for future use but I am a bit surprised that there are people who have been using computers for some years but did not know that.

 

The next video game to be made into a movie blockbuster (and it really is a blockbuster ) has been announced:

The executive producer of Tetris seems to be involved mainly with films made from video games though he has been executive producer of other films, probably the best one being True Lies (1994), one of the better Schwarzenegger films.

 

He may try and get Arnie to play Square

Fairly cloudy here but dry. All change with autumn arriving tomorrow with rain, wind and a noticeable drop in temperature.

 

Lori has reported back saying they can't see anything in their logs but will keep an eye on things to see if the coggy problems get worse.

Summer, in my area the leaves are starting to turn autumnal but have only started to fall. That will probably change over the next few days.
