I have one of those exciting accountancy courses to go to this afternoon It will be one of those where much will be things I already know or don't need to know but there may be some usful bits.

El, I did sleep better last night, thank you. I hope your course is more exciting than you anticipate, and you don't .

 

I'm off to the nurse for bloods etc and my flu jab. It seems no time at all since I had the last one, this year seems to have flown past.

Summer, the show stopper tonight is for the bakers to make two types of eclairs so you are right. It's years since I had a chocolate eclair or a cream cake of any sort.

I've had my bloods done and got my flu jab.

I found some soda scones in a nearby Asda. You need to get in early in the morning though, as they disappear fast.

I admit to being scared witless about the result. I'm hoping and praying for the best and preparing myself for the worst.

You could be right.

I'm back from the course. It was done in the form of a series of questions on various accounting technical queries where we had a moment or so to think how we might answer before the lecturer told us the answers. So it was done in a way which made us have to think reducing the risk of nodding off.

 

It wouldn't surprise ne if the polls are way out, and it's quite possible that people have been thinking they would vote one way in the days and weeks before tomorrow and then at the last moment change their minds.

 

Do you think the teaching style was tactical, to keep you awake?

So long as those who reconsider, vote no on the day, I'll be a happy bunny.

Meanwhile, very nice day off work; mr summer helped me do a good chunk of housework, I baked a cake, popped to my accountants, walked bramble in a beautiful place, sewed christmas stockings, skyped my mum, made a few Xmas cards and scoffed my eclair whilst watching the bake off!

Thank goodness I have PB today, as she will be a welcome distraction from the referendum vote.

I'm hoping and praying for a NO vote, and that tomorrow I will still be a British citizen and part of the United Kingdom.

Summer, yesterday's course was based on technical queries on accounting matters which accountants had been asking about.

Question 6 was the only one which might amuse you - A director of a company has a 3 year old son who has lent the company £1,000. Are there any disclosure requirements in the accounts?

 

Yogi, I hope you have a nice day with PB and that you are able to sleep tonight unless you decide to be glued to the television screen

I doubt I'll get any sleep tonight, El. 

My inclination would be either to make a decision to watch the proceedings throoughout the night or to decide not to start watching at all and go to bed as normal knowing that the overall result will probably not be announced until 6.30 tomorrow morning at the earliest.

 

If I started watching and then went to bed then it would be more on my mind and keep me awake.

On the radio news this morning they said that there's no exit poll so the media will just be speculating until the actual results start being announced which will be quite some hours after voting stops. It's not like the general election when results start trickling in fairly quickly as it's being done by the 32 local authority areas rather than by the individual councils so will take longer for the results to emerge.

I know I'll never get to sleep, so I might as well prepare to stay awake until I know the result.

Yogi, I wouldn't be surprised if this forum is much more active through the night than normal.
