Good morning everyone.  Well done Bramble I am glad you are feeling a little better this morning Summer

Definitely feeling cooler this morning.  It was amazingly warm and humid at the funeral yesterday and although there was only a service at the crematorium it was a very warm Christian service with many people speaking with great affection of our friend who by all accounts had lead a most interesting life and showed great kindness to everyone he met.  He was described as a real gentleman which is the way everyone described my hubby so it's no wonder they hit it off.

Enjoy your day everyone

It's funny you should say that EL, I was just talking to a friend recently and her brother died quite recently.  Just before he died he said to her 'promise me you won't let me have a funeral like that' referring to one they had both attended a couple of years ago.  It was probably a humanist funeral, no offence meant to any who like that sort of funeral but we all have different tastes, and he found it soulless.  My friend is a wonderful Christian lady and she was so comforted to find that before her brother passed he had been unconscious for some time and then woke up, bright as a button and said 'there's no need to worry I've seen so-and-so' and gave further descriptions. Obviously he had been given a foretaste of heaven and was quite at ease when he died a couple of days later. At the funeral yesterday we entered to Amazing Grace and sang The Lord's My Shepherd with organ accompaniment during the service and left to Louis Armstrong What a Wonderful World.  So although our friend was not a churchgoer it would seem he was a believer

Squiggle, I think that funeral I had gone to was a humanist one as well.

Your friend's brother's account is similar to the one I  have mentioned before about my late client who, shortly before she died, woke to tell her son that she had seen that she had regained the use of her arthritic hands and had been sewing clothes for the angels.

Some wonderful hymns and song at yesterday's funeral.

The last funeral I attended was a humanist one, it was a strange situation and I didn't know the person who had died, but I thought it was tastefully done.
I fully intend to make everyone laugh at my funeral, I have requested it be very colourful indeed

Bright and happy to match your personality.

I'm tired, so off to bed.

Goodnight and sweet dreams Summer and Fremsley.

Moonie, we miss you, get well soon.

Aaaaw that's cute ^

Good morning
It's a lovely day here, I got up quite early for a Sunday and got some laundry done, it's drying outside now I usually do it on Saturday night but just couldn't face it last night.
I'm 99% sure that I have tonsillitis, my throat is pure pain, rather than typical sore throat symptoms, which made me remember how it felt as a child. I googled it and found I have every symptom.
So I'm resting, drinking, gargling salt water and hoping it'll go away in a couple of days like it should

I hope you've all had a nice day, I'm settling down for the strictly launch

I'm glad you are feeling a bit better.

Btw, I'm in the Strictly thread.

Scott is funny, he's looking older now, so I must be too lol

DiL (middle son's wife) loves Scott, youngest son loves Frankie from The Saturdays and Mr Yogi hates Judy Murray.

Gregg is the bald greengrocer who "judges" the food on Masterchef, even though he doesn't have a cooking qualification to his name.

Who you like/not like?

I don't like Simon

Simon from Blue? I thought he might be a bit cocky.

I love Pasha but I'm undecided about Caroline. That fling with Harry from 1D was a bit
