Do they have a nice river to go to yogi? My mum lives near one and she loves the swans

The build their nest at the village pond every year. The villagers are very protective of them.

lol I misspelt cygnets in my first post.

I was up the park one morning a few years ago when a swan followed by several cygnets and another swan walked in front of me like I wasn't there

How dare they, the cheeky swans!

Maybe having royal protection gives them an air of superiority.

Awwwwwwwwww how can people be so cruel?

Good morning everyone

Fair weather here today.

Nice to see Moonie back here

Having a pleasant time with my brother. Squiggle, we've been playing more of The Raven. Chapter 1 was the longest of the 3 chapters, chapter 2 is less than half the length and chapter 3 is longer than chapter 2 but still comparatively short compared to the first one. I won't say any more about it in case you decide to ever get it. It's not a masterpiece but is still worth playing.

Good morning everyone, lovely swan stories, it's nice to know that people are so caring about them.

EL it sounds like a good game, as good as Syberia would you say?  I loved that game, I needed a walkthrough though I'm not very good but I do enjoy them I just hate getting stuck.

It's really a beautiful morning, I am sure it will be a little chilly when I go out in a bit but nice to see the blue sky.

Enjoy your day everyone

squiggle

We completed that game shortly before I needed to take my brother back to the railway station. It's just as well he checked the train timetable earlier as the scheduled train had been cancelled. So he's catching a slightly earlier train, will change at Bristol and will get home somewhat later than hoped for. Something to do with engineering work over-running between Swindon and Didcot.

When I dropped my brother off at the railway station I noticed that there was a policeman at the entrance, two police cars and a police van waiting outside. I don't know what that's about but someone's in trouble.

Squiggle, The Raven - Legacy of a master thief is a good adventure game and the storyline is satisfying. It doesn't have the quality of Syberia though. It's worth playing. There is a little bug part way through the third chapter if you do things in the wrong order. The character just went walkabouts without getting anywhere. But I quit, restarted at the autosave which was just before the problem, did things in a different order and no problem that time.

Good morning everyone.

It has rained overnight, so I'm glad I did most of my bulb planting yesterday afternoon.

Middle son and DiL have returned from their holiday and will be visiting at some point today. So, I need to clean out the fish tank before son arrives

El, I hope your brother's journey home wasn't too difficult or prolonged, due to the timetable changes.

Have a good day everyone.

Good morning everyone

Cloudy here, some light rain is forecast.

Summer and Yogi, I rang my brother shortly after 10 last night and he had only been home for a few minutes. The train from Bristol to London took about an hour longer than normal so that, together with the hour lost with the cancelled Gloucester train meant he got back 2 hours later.

He's writing to First Great Western to apply for compensation. If they try to get out of it on the basis that they are not liable on the basis that the Gloucester train was cancelled, he may then contact Passenger Focus. What makes this more conerning is that on arrival at London Paddington, passengers were required to hand over their tickets which would make getting compensation harder. As my brother had got a ticket which also included travelling on to his local railway station he was allowed to keep his ticket (he could have used Oyster but hadn't as he doesn't trust the railway company).

El Loro

Good morning everyone, drizzling here too but hopefully the prediction is for sunshine all the way after today.

I hope your brother manages to get some compensation EL, journeys like that are exhausting, especially not knowing when you are likely to get home.  I am glad you managed to get the bulbs planted in time Yogi and you can look forward to a good display in the Spring.

I hope your day goes well everyone, no matter what the weather does

When I rang my brother he was obviosuly tired so I didn't talk to him long.

Yogi, although there are rules for compensation for rail travellers, each railway company makes its own arrangements.

I didn't realise that. I hope your brother manages to get some recompense for the delay and disruption.

Yes I have seen it Yogi and it made me ashamed all over again that one of that horrible bunch was the so-called "winner", even though we did everything we could to stop it happening.  What a shameful result for what has been a wonderful programme with devoted followers.  They (the powers that be - prepubescent idiots it would seem) don't want to listen to the fans any more, they are in love with the TOWIE model sadly.

I agree with everything you said.

That's promising then, fingers crossed he will also be compensated this time.

I'll let you know what happens.

My son's labrador loves pigs ears. Keira likes them but her digestive system doesn't.

after a dull start, the weather here has brightened up.
