Bramble didn't want to go for a walk today so I've had tea & my bath early

My day has been quiet but good, thanks.

I've had my bath early too. Tomorrow is a PB day, so I will be having an early night.

Ooooh exciting! Will you be bird feeding?

Oh yes! The blackbirds aren't visiting as often now that the babies have fledged, but that won't stop PB saying "birdies" and pointing to the back door every five minutes,

Hubby bought her a duck which quacks, to add to her singing blackbird toy, and we've seen blue tits, robins and others we can buy for her.

Hehe sounds like she's going to have a collection! She should have an owl too

 Why didn't I think of that!  I'll check it out.

I found one, and it hoots!  I'll get that one for her next.

They stay at my house. We have a big toybox in the small bedroom for her toys (and for any future grandkids).

That's great because you get the pleasure of seeing all the fun she has with them
My nan had a toy box, I was obsessed with a tree house/dolls house she had, it had a lift in the trunk for the little people

What kind of dolls house did you have?

It wasn't a huge one. The whole front opened like a door, so you could access each room, and you could lift off the roof. My male cousin liked to play with it because it had a car and a garage - but my sexist uncle didn't like him playing with 'girls toys'.

I'm going to get off now, Summer, as I need to be up early tomorrow.

The earliest presents I can remember from when I was very young were a farmyard scene jigsaw with say 50 pieces and a wooden steam train engine which my dad had made.

I've been shopping this morning though no cakes this time and got some individual apple crumbles for today and tomorrow.

Then I cut the lawn and cut back some brambly stuff as the forecast for Monday isn't great.

 

Cheltenham Town was losing by 2 goals against Tranmere when they scored 2 goals in 6 minutes to win. That's 3 wins and 1 draw from the first 4 games of the season and they are in 3rd place. Not bad for a team who weren't expected to do much this season.

 

Evening all.

We had a great day with PB. We took her over to visit my mum and dad, then we went out for lunch and had a look round some shops. The fresh air must have knocked her out as she then had a 2 hour nap. She was "singing", dancing and giving out lots of hugs and kisses - as well as feeding her birdies, of course.

El, I love apple crumble, so you know where to send any leftovers.

Your dad must have been very good with his hands to make you a steam train, El.

Forgot to add, Mr Yogi did the iced water bucket challenge tonight for Macmillan charity. Two buckets of iced water poured over him by DiL, whilst I filmed it.

Summer, the apple crumble was nice. When I was young, ny mother made it quite often (she called it crispy apple pie) and once I grew up, I became responsible for making it. I think you can say it's a family favourite.

If you use gooseberries instead of apples, it's even better.

 

I love homemade crumbles, especially apple and I love gooseberry too

Weather is dry and bright, and was very chilly first thing.

Summer, Mr Yogi didn't squeal but he did gasp loudly (the only time he squeals is when a wasp is after him). We sat PB in her highchair at the door, so she could watch and you can hear her giggle on the video.

Squiggle, I agree that it's all in a good cause. I think this FB charity challenge, along with the recent one where girls published pics of themselves without makeup, have given some charities a well deserved boost.

El, I love crumbles and I like gooseberries too - yummy!

Summer, sometimes I have custard

 

I collected my round of the church magazines and delivered them to the houses after church as tomorrow looks to be one of those days for staying indoors. It's the southern half of the country which is affected so not all of us get it.

 

I've survived the ice bucket challenge! I let mr summer have the pleasure of throwing it over me, now I'm all dried off and waiting for my lunch to cook.
We're having fresh pasta with ham in, tomato & basil sauce and garlic bread

I expect to be working tomorrow as I have a lot of work to do and the forecast is such that I don't particularly want to go out. the rain is forecast to start at 10 this evening and continue, with a couple of breaks, until 10 Tuesday morning. About 50mm in total. At it's worst later tomorrow morning with 15mm in 3 hours so there will be a lot of surface water on the roads.
