Aww PB I am glad you were able to soothe her hurt pride Yogi, good luck at the garden centre.

EL I am glad Fremsley will be back with us soon.

I get the feeling that Autumn is with us to stay but who knows we may get an Indian Summer, certainly the forecast is unsettled this week.

Enjoy your day everyone

Thanks Squiggle. Well done on getting your drive swept.

Filming of the film Through the Looking Glass has started today. As I suspected Johnny Depp is not in Gloucester as his character The Mad Hatter is not involved with the scenes being shot.

However Mia Wasikowska has been seen and here's some photos:

She plays Alice Kingsleigh. If you saw the first film you will remember that at the end of the film she had become an apprentice to a shipping company and had sailed off to expand shipping routes to China. I assume that the scenes being shot at Gloucester Docks are non-Wonderland scenes of her returning to England after her voyages.

Have I mentioned that I love Johnny Depp?

Good morning everyone, blue sky but cold here, is it still August?

Wasn't it lovely to have that blast from the past (for those that saw it) of Ben yesterday, those were the days sigh.

Moonie I hope you are feeling better today, quick hug to make you feel brighter

Enjoy your day everyone - off to the bank soon to pay in a cheque, I don't do that much nowadays, it's a refund cheque I have just changed energy suppliers.

Squiggle, as you say, it's cold. On the weather forecast I saw yesterday they said that there's high pressure (so the wind blows in a clockwise direction) to the west of the UK and low pressure (so the wind blows in an anticlockwise direction) to the north east of the UK. That means that the wind is being forced from the Arctic straight over the UK, hence the cold weather. It's possible that there may be some snow falling on the tops of some mountains in Scotland.

It seems that there was only the one day of filming at Gloucester Docks (yesterday) and the film crew left during this morning though the long ships are still there. So nothing more to report from Gloucester docks.

There's to be a third series of Father Brown due to be shown next February. That series is filmed in various locations around Gloucestershire. Over the past week they've been filming at the Pittville Pump room and the Everyman theatre in Cheltenham. The centre of production is at Winchcombe School (taking advantage of the school summer holidays). The railway station shown in the series is the one at Winchcombe which is where the Gloucestershire-Warwickwickshire heritage railwy's HQ is. Father Brown's house is at Blockley (which is between Moreton-in-Marsh and Broadway).

Squiggle, it does seem that way. Gloucester itself has little in the way of suitable filming locations other then the docks and the Cathedral area as most of the centre of Gloucester is like other medium sized towns/cities. Cheltenham will always attract more filming because of its regency architecture, and then the Cotswolds are very filmic with the attractive landscapes and villages.

Used my new petrol strimmer today to lop some grass down before mowing it. Was like a scene from a Carry On film. All in the harness adjustment apparently. Sure a neighbour's stuck it on you tube.

Hope we're all okay and a hug for moonie

 Sounds like lots of fun!

Brilliant clips. Reminded me why I loved him as a HM.

yogi it makes my heart hurt there's stories of dog cruelty & theft on fb regularly lately too and sometimes I feel like I can't bare the world we're living in.
I just keep praying that bramble stays safe and for the safety of all the other dogs & animals in the world. I only wish we could protect them all from awful human behaviour

Evening Summer.

I can't understand why anyone would get an animal, only to neglect and abuse it.

Thank goodness there are some decent animal owners out there, who give their pets a happy and well cared for life.
