It's going to be a long garland of advent stockings!
I've cut them all out and cut out backs for them, then pinned them all together and ironed them. I should have ironed them first really.

Wow, that looks like it's been a lot of work - looks fantastic. We need to see the garland when you have finished it.

Good morning everyone.  My goodness it's been like an obstacle course getting everything done this morning.  Just one of those mornings where everything crops up and takes forever.

 

Still very wild, windy and wet here and I think the forecast is pretty similar for most of the week.

 

The Christmas stockings look great Summer, I can't visualise the finished article yet but I just know it will look great.  How did the Christmas stockings come?  Was it on a fabric roll, because you said about cutting each one out?  They are so Christmassy though, it's lovely.

Yes the stockings are on a roll of fabric, I just happened to see it in hobby craft and they had one all made up hanging on the wall. I knew it would take time to do so I thought starting early would be wise
I haven't even started my cards yet!

I've been out and about, and it's windy and showery. Feels more like November than August.

I managed to find some soda scones, so I bulk bought and have a load in my freezer! *does a little jig*

Summer, yesterday, Mr Yogi announced, "It's nearly the middle of August, and Christmas will be here before we know it", so you are not alone in thinking ahead to Christmas. I am going to try to be very organised this year.

Even I have been doing some preliminary planning for Christmas ! You remember that I bought that new phone with the ability to block calls. I rang my brother to let him know as I suspected he might have been thinking of getting me one for Christmas. I was right to do so as he had been looking and had identified a new model which was being launched in a few days and was going to get it for me. Luckily he hadn't ordered one. I explained that I couldn't have waited until Christmas due to the scammers having repeatedly rung me. (the new model has the ability to block international calls as well but I wouldn't have been able to use that feature anyway as all Skype calls are shown as intenrational - it's based in Luxemburg) and one of my clients uses Skype.

 

It's taking its time! 

I tried one of the scones (no surprise there) and it was lovely.

Yogi, I'm glad the scone was lovely. It would have been a shame if you han't liked it after all the trouble you went through to find them.

El I'm pleased you had the phone chat with your brother, it saves returning a gift. I haven't actually thought about gifts yet, I had better get my thinking cap on

I saw that Google doodle about the meteor shower today, clicked on it and eventually got on to the Independent website. Their article has the same Google video.

At the end of the article they have a series of pictures of yesterday's supermoon.

The moon pics were gorgeous. My favourite was the one with the moon behind the Torrelodones Tower in Spain.

BTW, I discovered why I keep getting the Amazon Prime delivery option on my orders. it turns out I was given a months free trial when I registered my Kindle. I obviously didn't pay attention to the email I got when I registered it.

Yogi, that explains it. Although I have Prime as I get quite a lot of things through Amazon, their Prime Instant video is free as well as a result. About 1000 television seasons of series (some older, some recent) and 2,400 films of all ages and types (though don't expect major recent films).

 I'm not keen on recent films but I might have a look at the tv series.

I received my dvd of 'From Scotland With Love'. I'm looking forward to viewing it in the next few days.
