I thought I must be hearing things just now, I have just watched an ad for a loan company with interest rates of 1971%!!!!!!!!!! How is that legal?

Some of those short term loan companies charge more than 2000%. Imo, they are nothing more than licensed loan sharks!

Yogi, I am sure I have seen 5000% on one of the consumer programs unless it has changed now

That's shocking, Moonie. Something needs to be done about it.

It does Yogi. Its flippin daylight robbery on the most vulnerable

It sure is, it's despicable.

How has your day been?

My day has been okay fankoo
Quiet but loads of washing done before the weather turns tonight/tomorrow morning

I'm glad your day has been good.

We cut the lawns today for the same reason.

It is already cooler and breezier tonight, and it's to get a lot worse at the weekend.

I'm starting to wilt, so I shall say goodnight and sweet dreams, Moonie.

Leaving a night owl hug for Summer.

Squiggle I have talent envy, I have a sewing machine but lack the skills to make clothes, let alone a wedding gown! I too would like to see the photos, it must have took you hours

Leaving goodnight hugs for everyone

You is a busy gal and always forgiven

Moonie

I agree EL, the acting in that film was superb, Mary Badham was memorable as Scout but I really can't think of a bad performance.

A nice morning but rain due tomorrow and all over the weekend I think.

We are in synch again Yogi, I am having my hair cut this morning

As promised here's the wedding dress.  I will try and scan a close-up of the bodice later so you can see the lace detail.

Morning everyone
Its sunny but all that is set to end by this afternoon

Hope it is or will be better where you are

Yogi, love those little fluff ball pups I'm sure the housework will fly by knowing you are gonna have your hair done later

El, I never knew about that music, am always to busy looking at the pups and the bikkies of course Classic film and a classy performance from Gregory Peck too

Squiggle, the wedding dress is so beautiful. You are so clever to have done such a brilliant job of making it

Sweet, have a great day and don't work to hard today *wags finger*

Laters lovely friends

Moonie

Moonie, this clip is a longer version of the Murder She Wrote theme (the first 40 seconds is what is usually heard):

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MDbMD4LiBJk

And for those of you who like coincidences. That clip shows pictures from the series, mainly of Angela Lansbury. The only other person shown is William Windom who was a regular in Murder she Wrote.

Although he did mainly television work he also appeared in films. His film debut was as the prosecutor in To Kill a Mockingbird.

Great film, and Gregory Peck was a brilliant actor.

The best laid plans, I can't join you in a twirl Yogi, my car wouldn't start.  The passenger door must have been just a little unsecured, enough for the light to be on and the power to drain away.  The AA guy soon sorted it and I have made another appointment for next week.  I look forward to your twirl though

Here are 2 further pics of the details of the dress.  I am so glad you all like it, I am obviously very proud of it and can't believe I did it now.

Edit to add:  My daughter is only 5'2" so to get a dress that was just the right length from a shop would have been difficult.  Sometimes if they alter a dress it alters the look of it.

Sweet, I knew you would like that ad You never know about your next packet and what it will bring

Yogi, enjoy your eldest sons visit and look forward to the "synchronised twirl" when you return

Squiggle, no twirl today? Glad the car is sorted now
That bodice is beautiful. You are clever

Washing all dried and still no rain but it is looking ominous

Back later

Sounds delicious EL, I would love to try some raspberry marshmallows, yum.  Thanks about the car (and the wedding dress too of course ) it must have been my friend when I gave her a lift after church.  I must remember to check every door when I park my car.

Squiggle, it is really beautiful. What a special thing to make for your daughter - a real labour of love.

Thanks El, I've set the V+ to record it.

What a shame about your car, Squiggle, but I'm glad the AA man was able to sort it quickly and you were able to make another hairdresser's appointment.

My hairdresser goes to my parents' house and I go over there to get my hair cut. Eldest son went with me and was able to put up a new shower screen for my mum and dad. They were very pleased to get a surprise visit from him and delighted when he offered to fit the shower screen for them.
