Hi squiggle glad you got your shopping in, thats one less worry x I checked again and my parcels are in the van, so hopefully will get them today
Good morning everyone. Pleased to report we have had no more snow. No.2 son is on his way. It will be great to see him before Christmas. He is working right over the holiday period!!
Won't be about much until tomorrow afternoon but will catch up with you all then. Take care and stay safe whatever you are doing.
PS Does anyone know if this place shuts down over Christmas or will we be able to keep in touch with each other?

Good morning again everyone. Just come back from walking to the Co-op again, and this time I was able to get bread and milk for my brother when he comes here
Sounds as if we've all had some good news today.
Joyron, this is a copy of a message that Ted O'Neill has posted hidden in the depths of the Social Strata help pages. So I would assume that this forum will be operating as normal. The only problem might be is if their servers went down, then there would be a delay whilst someone came in to sort that out, but this would be the case at nighttime, weekends and bank holdidays in the States.
"Please note that our office will be closed from December 24, 2010 through January 2, 2010. During that time, we will be available for support, however.
Happy holidays, everyone!"
In case anyone hadn't noticed, the theme poll was won by this Blue Winter theme, so it stays for the rest of winter, then it will be re-evaluated. Ted O'Neill posted this result at 1 this morning on the poll thread, but then took off the sticky, so unless someone is looking over in Community Announcements, you wouldn't spot this.

I'm not sure who will be here over Christmas, so here's my little Christmas card to you all

Lovely card El (no van as yet)
Good afternoon everyone.
Been out with hubby today, managed to get the most of the Christmas food shopping done. Just a couple of bits to pick up tomorrow. I bet you're glad your groceries arrived yesterday, Squiggle.
Skylark, I hope your delivery comes. I'm still waiting on one parcel, so fingers crossed it arrives in time.
El, thank you for the Christmas card - you know I love anything with dogs on it.
Joyron, hope to catch up with you tomorrow.

Hi Yogi x Still waiting on my parcels, giving it to the last minute as i am fast running out of cash! I really should have just cancelled my order but the money takes so long going back in to my account. Anyway these things are sent to try us! I have been cleaning most of the day, but a bit pointless as i am taking my grandaughter tomoro!

Make sure you keep the pens away from her.I'm only waiting for one parcel now. It was posted on the 17th, so it should come in time - I'm trying to stay positive.

Pens well hidden ! Hope your parcel comes , Thats the boy in starving as per, bye for now xxx
Skylark, you may want to keep your granddaughter's "wall installation artwork". She may become the next big thing in modern art, and then it will be worth a fortune
Bye Skylark, I'm off to do some cooking, too.
El, you could be right about those wall murals, they might be worth something in years to come.

Hi all x Funny enough, El, we were talking about Modern Art yesterday at work! We came to the conclusion, that you have to be failed academic and have an influencial family who can introduce you to those "in the know". Wealthy families must have their kids doing something, to take the shame away that they never got in to Oxford! So on that conclusion. my grandaughter wont be famous for her art! My daughter could be famous for "the unmade bed" , her forte isnt housework, but unfortunately someone beat her too it! Was it Tracey someone? Its amazing what we talk about at work, but then again most of the people i talk to have had a lot of meds Edit...thats the patients not the staff, by the way

Good morning everyone
I spoke with my brother yesterday evening and at this time, he still expects to be coming here tomorrow as planned
I have to go out to get the rest of the Christmas food shopping done today. I could be some time

Hello everyone.I thought I was completely organised (except for one parcel which hasn't arrived) until middle son told me (this morning) that his girlfriend will now be staying over on Christmas Eve. This meant I had to dash about buying her a stocking and some stocking fillers. I can't have my sons opening their stockings on Christmas morning, without having one for her. Good job I really like her.

Hi everyone Thats nice your brother can make it El x Yogi Off to pick up the wee one shortly, she has been having her Christmas party at nursery and is all dressed up in her finery! Will get her trousers and wellies on and make a snowman . Have a nice day all x
Good afternoon, everyone
I've got all my shopping that I needed to do
I went to fill up with petrol, but found that to lock on the cap had frozen. I don't leave filling up to the tank is almost empty, so I drove home. Then I got my hairdryer at the end of an extension lead, and gave the keyhole in the cap a good blast of hot air, until I was able to open the cap. And went back and filled up. I could have waited until the New Year, but we all know what is going to happen with fuel prices then.
I hope your parcel arrives before Christmas, Yogi
Did your parcel ever arrive Skylark? Talking of snowmen, yesterday whilst walking I noticed that someone had an 8 foot inflatable snowman outside their house. Where they live, I wouldn't be surprised if someone pinches it or bursts it. Personally I'd stick with real snowmen.

Good afternoon everyone. Hope this finds you well. Glad you managed to get everything done that you needed to El Loro and Yogi. Enjoy making snowmen Skylark. Where's Squiggle today??
It's nice and quiet here after a hectic 24 hours. No.2 son on his way home to Hove. Hubby and No.1 son out now until tea time so I'm hoping to put my feet up and watch some Christmas tv!!

Joyron, I also noticed that squiggle hadn't been here since yesterday. I know that her broadband was not working a couple of days ago, so that could be the reason. Or she could be busy with her church - there can be lots of services at this time. My church probably has the best part of a dozen carol services including the school ones in the couple of weeks leading up to Christmas.
Staggers in! Puff puff puff. I have been installing and reinstalling routers and changing ethernet cables all day. My lovely computer guy has talked me through, like an experienced pilot talking down a novice and I am on online again.
To celebrate being online, here's another festive smiley
Evening all.
Skylark, I bet you had lots of fun, building a snowman with your granddaughter.
Squiggle, glad your internet is up and running again. Your techie guy sounds very helpful.
El, glad you got all your shopping in.
Joyron, hope you got a wee while to put your feet up and watch some TV.

My photobucket album seems to be playing up! Hope I'll be able to do the smilies tomorrow, it just seems slow to load and although the photos loaded on my laptop I see that the picture didn't actually appear on here.
Wishing you all, a very

That's a nice Christmas picture, Yogi
Edited 27 December, for some reason Yogi's picture seems to have vanished, at least on my computer. I think this is the one:
squiggle, I can see the photobucket picture you posted yesterday evening. I don't know if you now see it, or are still having problems. I use Firefox which seems to cause less problems for people on this forum than Internet Explorer.

Good morning everyone Lovely picture Yogi says it all. EL I am on Firefox, I think it might be to do with the new router, I am clearing cookies at the moment. The first picture was not from my Photobucket account and the second, which was, as far as I can see did not appear. Can you see the second one where I say I am doing another festive smiley? Catch up later, hope you all have a great Christmas Eve.
Good morning squiggle
I can see your photobucket picture, the one with a dog and cat sleeping inside Santa's hat. I also use Firefox, have you tried clearing the browser cache as this could be causing the problem. Per Firefox help pages:

Good afternoon everyone. Hope you are well. Sorry to hear about the computer/broadband problems Squiggle. I hope you can get everything sorted out soon.
I've had a busy morning. Went to the shops for the final bits and pieces. Cooked my ham. Done two loads of washing. Now I intend having a break before it's time to start cooking again.
Will try and visit here sometime tomorrow if I can but in case I don't I send all my love and very best wishes to all my lovely buddies. I hope each and everyone of you enjoys the day and that you have lots of fun sharing time with family and friends. Love you all.

Hi Joyron, I hope all goes really well with you and your family El Loro thank you so much for the tip, I tried that and I tried deleting my cookies and even flushing my DNS (whatever that is ) but nothing is working. It obviously has to do with my new router but I am giving up on it now until after Christmas. I can access my photos on the laptop and I would be grateful if you could all tell me whether you can see this picture, then I will have to put up pictures on the laptop for now. Back to the cooking soon, hope all is going well with you all

Hi everyone, it wouldnt let me post on this thread this morning Have been busy all day still got loads to do, having a tea break
Good afternoon everyone
I third Joyron and squiggle in wishing everyone a Happy Christmas
Skylark, they did say on the radio this morning that they were expecting an exceptional quantity of people using the internet to do online shopping to get good deals on the various sales which have started, so that could explain why you weren't able to post, though if it was just this thread then that couldn't explain it.

I can see your Santa and reindeer photo, so you are certainly able to post these.
This is a link to Photobucket's checklist, some of these you have already done.
It may give you some clue as to what is causing the problem.
You might also try this
Open Tools - Options - Content.
Click on the second exceptions button, the one to the right of Load Images Automatically.
If you see that photobucket is listed and shows that it is blocked, then you would want to delete it.
If it's not there, then type i202.photobucket.com and click Allow
(Edited, I think you may need to type photobucket.com without the i202 as this part of the address can vary)
Then close, refresh the screen and see if you can now see your images.
It is not normal to have to do this, but it may be that this will work with you.
Alternatively, if the router firewall is blocking it, then you would need to add the photobucket site to the ones you will accept, but I would not be able to tell you how to do that as the procedure would be specific to that router.

Evening everyone. Please forgive me but I feel the need to rant!!!!
Both hubby and I have been suffering with colds for the past couple of days but of course hubby is now "dying". I've managed to do the last minute shopping, sorted out the turkey, made several pints of stock for the gravy, done two loads of washing (ready to iron when I get a spare moment) and prepared an evening meal for hubby after he decided he was too ill to go and get the take away curry he wanted for his tea (which he says is the cure all for colds).
I now face the prospect of a grumpy hubby tomorrow who will not want a Christmas dinner, but who will want looking after all the same. I'm afraid my patience is running thin now. I wish I could just take to my bed too and say we won't be having Christmas this year, but with two very hyper grandchildren turning up on Boxing Day morning that is just not an option.
Please forgive me if this goes against your thoughts El Loro, but I think the ladies in our lovely little group will understand how I'm feeling at this moment. All that said I do realise this rant sounds very pathetic compared with what some people will be having to deal with.

Joyron, I totally understand how you feel and sympathise . I think that men who declare that they are dying when they've just got a cold are being just a bit selfish. You are feeling down because you have a cold, and that's made worse by hubby moaning at you. You are totally justified by having a good rant. I would do the same.
I would print off the poem that squiggle posted on Tuesday and give that to your hubby to read. It might make him think.
