Good morning everyone
Another sunny morning here, there is a forecast for showers this afternoon.
I hope Moonie and Yogi are feeling better today
Good morning everyone, I don't think we are getting showers EL, not until Monday but thankfully it is going to cool down a bit.
Yes I'm the baby of the family Summer. It was a lovely memory, I remember my brother taking us to a mirror maze somewhere too which I found quite alarming. You would see a member of your party and try to get to them but it was only a reflection of them and you couldn't find your way to them.
For Yogi and moonie
Squiggle, I've never been in a mirror maze but have seen them in films. One of the better known scenes from older films is in The Lady from Shanghai (1947):

If there are any showers in my area this afternoon, I don't think they are expected to be heavy.
It's amazing how disorientating the mirror maze was EL, I ended up being quite frightened in the end, silly
Squiggle, when you are young, some things can seem scary, and when you look back as an adult you wonder why.
My mother's parents lived in Marple and we would visit them from time to time. Marple is near Manchester and once we went to the children's zoo at Belle Vue (it's been closed for years). One of its features was Willie the Whale. It was made out of concrete, 32 feet long, and 8 feet high and inside was a small aquarium.
I was young at the time and I was petrified at the thought of being swallowed by the whale and refused to go in.
I noticed this on the BBC website about a rather unusual football shirt to be worn by an Italian side. There's no commentary and the BBC ask if this is the most ridiculous shirt ever.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/28448643
So I decided to see if I could find any clip on Youtube with sound. I found this:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SsZ3dTu4gUI
which explains why. I don't think the BBC have done their homework.
I tend to be suspicious of tradespeople who knock on my door when I'm not expecting anyone.
A man knocked on the door a few minutes ago. He said that they would be in my area over the next couple of weeks looking at house roofs to advise on them. (Oddly enough someone knocked a couple of weeks ago saying the same thing, but this man said it wasn't them, it was someone copying them). He said that whatever work was done would be done without charge on the basis that we would recommend them on to other people if they needed work done).
If soomething sounds to be too good to be true, then it's probably is, as they say, so I told hilm I wasn't interested and shut the door leaving him muttering to himself.
Well done EL, who knows what he would have got up to, telling you you had all sorts of things wrong and offering to fix it, for a price. As you say if something looks to be good to be true then it almost certainly is.
I thought this was nice for our Buddies family, regulars, poppers in and of course absent friends and those who are feeling under par
Good morning everyone
Another warm and sunny day here. Yesterday's forecast showers never materilaised. Looks as if the weather cools a bit from tomorrow.
Summer, I hope you have a great weekend Needless to say, there may be a request from some of us for you to bring back some wedding cake for us
for Moonie and Yogi, I hope you get well soon.
Good morning everyone, another hot and sticky night. The last of those I hope. Yes EL I think it's a cooler week ahead which for me is very welcome. We haven't had a drop of rain over here though although elsewhere in the county it's been drenching down. We really could do with some now.
I hope you have a lovely time at the wedding Summer, and the couple have a great day. Hoping you feel better soon Yogi and moonie - enjoy your day everyone
In the last couple of days scientists have discovered a previously unknown bacteriophage virus which they are calling CrAssphage which iives in the human gut. It's far too early to know what the effect is as to is it harmful or not. But when they do further research it may be that if it is harmful then it can be targeted, or if it's not harmful could be modfied in some way to target damaging bacteria. Either way, this discovery could one day be very good news for anyone who suffers from gut problems.

Good morning everyone
It's fairly sunny here and no rain forecast though tomorrow could be a bit wet.
For Moonie and Yogi
Good morning everyone, much cooler and fresher, I am not sure whether we're going to get any showers but I think not until tomorrow.
Enjoy your day everyone
End today of Didcot's best known structures which will be familiar to anyone who has travelled by train past Didcot. It won't seem the same without them.
Sad to see them come down EL, an amazingly small amount of smoke though.
That reminds me of this which I posted on my FB page today, I thought you might enjoy it too
Squiggle, that's a nice Flanders & Swann song. Not all of the railway stations mentioned were actually axed in the Beeching cuts, and some of the ones closed have re-opened. One mentioned is Midsomer Norton (which has nothing to do with Midsomer Murders though apparently a murder mystery will be held sometime) and is now the centre of the Somerset & Dorset heritage railway station.
I did think that one of the stations mentioned was Mortehoe, which they pronounce Mort E Hoe but down here it's called MORThoe.
I have been on the West Somerset Railway which is a lovely ride. all along the coast from Dunster via Blue Anchor and Watchet to Minehead. I think you have mentioned it before, but not the Somerset & Dorset.
Squiggle, yes I've mentioned the West Somerset Railway as when I was young we went to Blue Anchor a couple of years for our holiday. That was in the days when it was part of the main train network and we changed trains at Bridgewater and went via Watchet before getting to Blue Anchor.
Good morning everyone
Another sunny morning here and no rain forecast.
Summer, I'm glad you had a good weekend
I too hope that Moonie and Yogi are better soon.
Good morning everyone.
Thank you all for your get well wishes. Touch wood, the new meds seem to have kicked in and I feel a lot better. I hope this return is a permanent one.
I'll pop in later for a catch up.
Good morning everyone, I hope all goes well with your client EL I woke up to a lovely refreshing shower this morning, the garden is very grateful and it's lovely to feel the weather so much less heavy than of late.
I too am a little worries about Yogi and moonie Summer, we all miss them and they've been gone ages, I hope we get an update soon
Enjoy your day everyone, hope it's not too busy Summer, just busy enough to make it enjoyable.
