I don't know if any of you like chocolate () but if you do, there's a documentary on BBC4 at 9 this evening made by Michel Roux Jr about its history. He is looking for perfection and wants to create his own unique chocolate flavour.

Summer, I don't think we will have to wait too long for series 5 of The Great British Bake Off. It will be on BBC1 instead of BBC2 but we are promised that it will be exactly the same format. Here's a clip from April with Mary Berry:

As you may have already heard, today the General Synod of the Church of England passed the necessary resolutions for it to be possible to have women bishops. For it to become law, it now has to be enacted through Parliament. Iy then has to go back to the General Synod for the formality of being finally ratified. That could take place on 17 November so after that the first woman bishop could be announced.

 

The reason for mentioning this is that the Bishop of Gloucester Michael Perham is retiring on 21 November. There is therefore speculation that his successor could be the first woman bishop in the C of E.

Summer isn't it funny about this time of year my thoughts turn towards the cooler months as well, I have been enjoying the lovely sunshine but you suddenly think about being cosy and warm and snuggly, we are daft aren't we?

Good morning sunny with a cool breeze here

Squiggle, I'm glad you get me! I loooooove autumn and the local corn fields are turning golden. I love it when they harvest the crops, round bales are my favourite
Also, I'm fed up of flies buzzing round my head when I go walking now

For Summer, not that the flies would be mosquitos but it would work

Last Sunday there was an Art Couture Festival at Painswick. Various photos of winners on the local news website but I thought I would post this one from the under 12 creative headwear competition. As the entrant was under 12 I'll refrain from making any adverse comments.
