Overcast but humid here today. I really enjoyed the giraffe article El
Squiggle I hope you're having a lovely time at house group
I've had a crazy morning;
Before work bramble jumped out of the car to chase a cat, I then chased her, we ended up in someone's garage because the door was half open and as I was leaving with her safely in my arms, I bashed my head on the garage door!
I then had to drop my colleague off at a hospital appointment and take her daughter to school, and then get to work on time
Sweet, I hope you didn't damage the garage door with your head
But most of all I hope you didn't damage yourself
I rember bashing my head on an overhead bar in the schoold gym when I was in my teens. It was quite painful.
My brother did some Saturday work at the Walls icecream factory when he was in the 6th form at school. He was knocked out by one of the large freezer doors being opened or closed by someone. He was OK but did have to have some dental work done as a result.
Because I am tall and buses aren't made for tall people. I am apt to hit my head on bits of bus. Hence some of the rubbish I type sometimes
Years ago one of the firm's clients had their headquarters at this place:
There was a barn attached which was as old as the house and we worked on the upper floor of the barn (it having been converted into office space). The roof was quite low and it had heavy oak beams across as support. The result was that even someone of my height (a bit over 5ft 6) had to be very careful when walking across the room to avoid being brained by hitting one of those beams. I imagine the barn is still there as it was a listed building and is the only one of its type in the country (that's what I was told).
Ouch that sounds painful Summer, I hope you don't have a bump or a bruise That Bramble has a lot to answer for
What a beautiful place EL, it looks genuine Tudor.
My generation learned them by reciting them aloud, it stuck!

Same with me. Mental arithmetic was my strongest subject at junior school so the times table was easy for me.
I couldn't help but giggle when I discovered that I'm not the only one proned to bumping my head lol
El, your poor brother I hope his teeth have been alright since.
That house above is beautiful
No yogi tonight? I hope she's ok

Good morning everyone
Cloudy here, currently dry. The rain is forecast to arrive by evening in my area.
Summer, my brother's teeth were fine after that dental work was done.
El, I'm pleased to hear it
Hair grows back but you only get one chance with teeth
Good morning everyone, nice at the moment but rain later I think.
Off to the dentist this morning with my grandson and hoping to dodge the showers.
Enjoy your day everyone
There are broadband connection issues with Virgin in my area which is leading to intermittent loss of internet access (and also those with Virgin Tivo, not that I do). Virgin say it's to do with work to make improvements to the service. Virgin say that the problem shouldn't last long though.
For those who are on Virgin it's worth making a note of their service update phone number 0800 561 0061 to see if there's a reported problem. It's not always right up to date though.
My broadband connection seems to be stable now so hopefully that's sorted.
Having lived in Gloucester all my life, Robert Raikes (who founded Sunday Schools in this country and lived in Gloucester) has been a name I've known of as one of the most famous people to have come from Gloucester.
The Robert Raikes House is now a pub and I'm sorry to read this story published yesterday:

Although our vicar is quoted at the end of the article she's not in the group of people in the photo and I don't think I recognise anyone as from our church.

A straw in the wind EL, very sad
My poor grandson has picked up a bug and was sick all night long so we have had to change his dental appointment.
Thank you EL.
We all see homeless people begging in the streets or hear of them sleeping rough. Sometimes we may give money, sometimes we may give them food, sometimes we may try to help in some practical way, sometimes we don't notice, sometimes we feel unable to help, sometimes we feel unvilling to help.
And then there's this which is a combination of the first three possibilities above and is very unusual. The article has appeared in the Cheltenham Echo today and it's worth reading.
A heartwarming story EL, I feel so sorry for anyone who ends homeless.
Yogi I hope you are OK

And likewise from me
Evening all
