Hi Yogi and Sweet
Sorry I have been around much. Been talking to a mate I don't get to speak to very often
It's nice to have a catch up.

BB has exhausted me, so I am off to bed.
Goodnight Moonie, sweet dreams.
What are you up to tomorrow Yogi?
You just caught me. No plans, I'll see what the weather is like before I decide.
Goodnight again.

Good morning everyone
A warm and sunny day here today. Wednesday and Thursday currently forcast to be OK then all change on Friday to unsettled weather.
As I've never seen Cranford I've ordered the DVD which has both the series and the Christmas return episodes based on your comments.
Good morning everyone.
A cloudy start to the day with occasional showers forecast for later.
El, I hope you enjoy Cranford. I loved it!
Have a good day everyone.
Summer, I like your cute little owl
The Cranford Christmas special was a two parter which was televised during Christmas in 2009.
That's a lovely cute little goodnight owl Summer - aww I am glad you were able to have a good catch-up moonie EL I know you are going to love Cranford, there's everything in it, drama, comedy, tragedy, you are in for a real treat I hope your plans work out just fine Yogi, the happy expression on the dog's face made me chuckle too
I hope it's very good cake for that long a walk Summer, and that there will be lovely views and good weather. I don't know where the coin came from, I was showing it to my eldest grandson yesterday and he thinks his gramps might have found it perhaps when he was a boy.
Similar weather to yours down here EL, I am making the most of the last few good days.
Enjoy your day everyone
I just had to share this
Our 14-year-old dog Abbey died last month. The day after she passed away my 4-year-old daughter Meredith was crying and talking about how much she missed Abbey. She asked if we could write a letter to God so that when Abbey got to heaven, God would recognize her. I told her that I thought we could so, and she dictated these words:
Dear God,
Will you please take care of my dog? She died yesterday and is with you in heaven. I miss her very much. I am happy that you let me have her as my dog even though she got sick.
I hope you will play with her. She likes to swim and play with balls. I am sending a picture of her so when you see her you will know that she is my dog. I really miss her.
Love, Meredith
We put the letter in an envelope with a picture of Abbey and Meredith and addressed it to God/Heaven. We put our return address on it. Then Meredith pasted several stamps on the front of the envelope because she said it would take lots of stamps to get the letter all the way to heaven. That afternoon she dropped it into the letter box at the post office. A few days later, she asked if God had gotten the letter yet. I told her that I thought He had.
Yesterday, there was a package wrapped in gold paper on our front porch addressed, 'To Meredith' in an unfamiliar hand. Meredith opened it. Inside was a book by Mr. Rogers called, 'When a Pet Dies.' Taped to the inside front cover was the letter we had written to God in its opened envelope. On the opposite page was the picture of Abbey & Meredith and this note:
Dear Meredith,
Abbey arrived safely in heaven. Having the picture was a big help and I recognized her right away.
Abbey isn't sick anymore. Her spirit is here with me just like it stays in your heart. Abbey loved being your dog. Since we don't need our bodies in heaven, I don't have any pockets to keep your picture in so I am sending it back to you in this little book for you to keep and have something to remember Abbey by.
Thank you for the beautiful letter and thank your mother for helping you write it and sending it to me. What a wonderful mother you have. I picked her especially for you. I send my blessings every day and remember that I love you very much. By the way, I'm easy to find. I am wherever there is love.
Love, God
Good morning Buddies
Fair weather cloud here but good spells of sunshine too
Have a great day and will see you later

Really lovely, thanks for posting it.
And Bramble will be with you for many years to come yet too Sweet
Indeed you can't Sweet. So all the more to enjoy and her company, as I know you do
My day is going okay fankoo
How's yours going? Not working to hard, I hope?
I probably won't watch the England game Sweet because there's nothing to play for except pride and they have shown precious little of that so far
I have been watching Wimbledon on the telly
Glad you're able to get updates
You don't need to work to hard whilst you are *getting back into the swing of things* after your hols
Heather Watson has won the first set 6-3. Now for the second set.
And Heather Watson has beaten Akla Tomljanovic 6-3, 6-2. Well done Heather, the second British woman to get to the second round. Her opponent is likely to be the number 9 seed so that will be a much harder match.
Good afternoon all.
I took Keira to the vets for her booster jabs. Although she was quite stressed and panting, there was no repetition of her frantic behaviour last time, when they ended up having to put a soft muzzle on her! Vet said she is in good health but could do with losing a couple of kilos - so extra walks and slightly less food for the next few months. Tbh, I could see that she had packed on a few pounds over the winter - I blame the awful weather, which curtailed both the length of our walks and their frequency.
Yogi, I'm glad Keira is in good health I hope the weather is kind enough to be able to have extra walks.

I hope so too, El. She gets very few treats, so some extra walks and a slight adjustment to her diet should get the few extra pounds off her.
At least you re getting the scores Sweet. I hope you enjoy your day of tennis tomorrow
Not decided on tea yet

Well done Heather Watson
Afternoon Yogi
Really pleased Keira wasn't stressed. She and you can well do without that Nice to know she is in good health too
It will do her good to lose a few pounds but you need some good weather for long walks. So lets hope you get some

I am so glad that Keira wasn't so stressed this time, so upsetting to see a dear member of the family going through stress for something you know has to be done. I am sure she will soon walk off those extra pounds.

It was awful last time, she was so distressed.
I think it helped that today's vet was a sweet young woman, rather than a big burly man.
Can you book her in with that woman vet in the future, I hate to think of her getting so stressed. That's what I found so touching about the book Marley & Me, they couldn't cover it in the film but it really got to me.

The surgery is an open one with no appointments, and they have several vets who seem to work on a rota system, but if she is on duty I will ask if we can see her.
