Yogi, you are correct in your answers, though I think it's Melchior.(and 1984 is the answer to 14 rather then 13)

That leaves 3, 8, 13, 15, 16 and 17 outstanding.
3.The song White Christmas was first performed in which 1942 film?
8.The character Jack Skellington appears in which 1993 Tim Burton film?
13.What Christmas item was invented by London baker and wedding-cake specialist Tom Smith in 1847?
15.Which country did St Nicholas come from?
16.Who wrote How the Grinch Stole Christmas?
17.From which country does the poinsettia plant originate?

(The answer to 3 is not the film White Christmas as this was Bing Crosby's second film where he sang White Christmas)

13.What Christmas item was invented by London baker and wedding-cake specialist Tom Smith in 1847?
15.Which country did St Nicholas come from?
16.Who wrote How the Grinch Stole Christmas?
17.From which country does the poinsettia plant originate?

squiggle, all your answers are correct. I must admit I hadn't spotted that Yogi had already given Greece to number 15. Turkey would have also been acceptable as St Nicholas was
said to have been born in Patara,Lycia, Asia Minor in the part which became Turkey but at the time was a Greek colony (that's what Wiki says, but I wasn't around then so can't confirm it )

So congratulations to Yogi, Skylark, brisket and squiggle who between you successfully completed this quiz

Afternoon everyone.    Sorry I've not been about.  Had a couple of very busy days!!  Had to go to the shops this morning and what normally takes me about an hour took over two hours today!!  Everyone is out buying.  They think it's going to snow hard again tomorrow.

Love the pictures Squiggle.  We have two robins in our garden and whenever I see them I always think of Hubby's parents who lived with us for a while.

I see you were all busy quizzing on here yesterday.  Sorry I missed it.  El Loro, I've added a message to our PM.

Evening all.

That takes me back many years to the days of black and white TV, when we had pounds, shillings and pence, when you could buy a house for ÂĢ500, when we had a tin bath in front of the coal fire, when computers were big enough to fill a house, and Tim Berners-Lee (inventor of the www) was just a babe.

Ah, good old George Dixon of Dock Green - Evening all
