Good morning everyone.
Summer, I am so sorry I wasn't here last night. I conked out on the couch at 7.30pm and didn't wake up until after midnight. I went straight to bed and got up ten minutes ago. I have no idea why I was so tired but I slept like a log!
Your holiday sounds like my idea of heaven. I will definitely add Lake Garda to the places I'd like to visit.
I've just seen the England score from last night's game. Condolences to England fans. Mr Yogi isn't going to be a happy bunny today.
Have a good day, everyone.
Well done to England winning by 2-1 yesterday

I am of course referring to the Women's World Cup qualifying rounds, nothing to to with the World Cup in Brazil.
This was on the radio news yesterday.

Good morning everyone, a little cloudier and a tiny bit chillier this morning but I still think it's going to be a lovely day.
Summer I can't remember where we stayed, I think it might have been Garda but I was about 15 at the time so it's a bit of blur. My Dad took Mum and me over with our car on the plane from Southend to either Calais or Le Touquet, I am not sure which. He then drove us through France, we started with Paris, over the Alps into Switzerland and then into Italy. I remember we visited Rome, Venice, Lake Garda, Florence, Pisa, Viareggio (I wish now we had made it as far as Amalfi but we didn't) Naples and Sorrento, we went over to Capri on a day trip and saw the Blue Grotto (very embarrassing for me as a teenager because we had to lie flat in the bottom of the boat to get in and I think my hat blew off or something because I remember the woman who was steering the boat saying something in Italian and everyone seemed to be laughing at me ) I remember I was terrified when we crossed the border into Italy and the Italian border guards inspecting our papers came to the car and stopped my Dad getting out and pointed at me and made me get out. I thought I was going to be marched off to jail or something but looking back I think it was just Italian men and a Signorina, you know. A wonderful trip, happy memories and I am full of admiration for my wonderful Dad who did it all 6 weeks after a major operation to remove his gall bladder and didn't make one booking for the whole 3 weeks! I would never have the guts to do what he did.
I vowed to go back again to Italy, but I never did, me and my hubby did book after I had recovered from cancer but we had to cancel because he then got cancer
I hope the sun shines on you today, enjoy your day everyone.
Morning everyone
The sun is out here early for a change today
Sweet, <-- is this you?
Sounds like you and your mum had a fabby time. Really pleased for you both I have got over the disappointment of England losing now Sweet
Yogi, morning sleepyhead You must have been really tired
El,
Squiggle, lovely story with a very sad ending. Leaving and for you
Have a great day lovely people
I have always voted Labour. I am wondering if I will when the next election rolls round...
Thanks moonie and EL, I still have my beautiful memories of Italy, the beautiful countryside, the people, the gorgeous food, nothing takes that away. And of course I have some lovely memories of the places hubby and I did get to go
I hope you and EL will still enjoy the footy even though England aren't doing that well (I don't follow it so I don't know if they are out already but I know it's not looking good) moonie I look back to 1966 when I was newly married and the marvellous team and inspiring manager that England had then. The modern day footballers might be earning shedloads more than the footballers back then but they have definitely lost something important.
Squiggle, i agree with you re modern day footballers. Also in this country, clubs are regarded as more important than country for most of the time. Even today on the BBC football gossip page there are 4 items re the World Cup and 12 items re possible summer transfers.http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/gossip/
England haven't yet been eliminated but they are now dependent on other results going their way.
I am so glad your mum enjoyed her holiday with your Sweet
Does she have far to travel to her home?
Nah, i'm sure your not quite that green Sweet
Did you have loads of sunshine and warm weather?
Last question was Bramble pleased to see you again?

Precious memories, Squiggle.
Wishing your mum a safe journey home, Summer.
No PB visit this weekend, unfortunately. Good job I got lots of kisses and cuddles on Wednesday, which will keep me going until her next visit.

Its getting hard to tell them apart now Yogi. All they seem to do and want to do is squeeze the worst off in our society

You're not wrong there moonie, it's head they win tails we lose and none of them know the real world, how many of 'em have ever had a proper job, it makes you sick. They live in featherbed existence where they don't have to pay for anything, it's all taken care of by 'expenses'. No-one should be allowed to stand for an MP who hasn't faced the realities of life.
I'm in the BB thread but I will keep popping back to see if anyone is in here,
Sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet
Evening you two.
