Good morning everyone, I nearly didn't make it.  My laptop charger developed a fault overnight, the cable has worn through right near the charging end and wasn't charging the laptop.  I have managed to repair with electrical tape and will order another one right away. It's still a bit hit and miss though.

That must have been very frightening for both you Summer and you too EL when you were a boy.  Thank goodness you both had people within earshot.

Would you believe the local council won't collect the old boiler?  I have an old garden bench to go and they will happily take that but not the boiler.  I enquired whether I could take it down the tip myself and the answer seems to be 'yes' so I will have to ask my grandson to put it in the car for me and get help at the other end.  Why are they happy to accept down the tip but not pick it up themselves, I was quite happy to pay as well.  Life is a puzzle sometimes.

My grandson's shoulder is healing amazingly well, he was so busy in the garden yesterday, the sling has gone and the physio is encouraging him to do lots of arm exercises, he has a fair bit of mobility in them now.

Enjoy your day everyone

squiggle

Squiggle, that's good news about your grandson's shoulder

I hope you get that charger quickly as you don't want to get electrocuted

My council is similar to yours, they don't collect things such as boilers either. When my boiler was replaced, the boiler engineers disposed of the old one themselves but I was paying for mine.

El Loro

lol It looks like the Buddies have made a habit of falling into bogs. I was 10 and with a group of friends, when I fell into a bog. I was sinking fast and was rescued by the eldest child in the group. Unfortunately, one of my new boots was left behind! My mum was not pleased.

Squiggle, it sounds like your grandson is healing well.

When we had our boiler replaced, the gas engineer removed the old boiler. I don't understand why your council won't remove it for you for a fee, but allow you to deposit it into their recycling centre. Some councils have daft rules, don't they?

I hope the laptop charger arrives quickly, Squiggle.

Yogi, the picture doesn't do justice to the chapel's gardens, they were very pretty, colourful and well kept
Maybe you could visit it if you win ÂĢ70 million tonight

ROFL

I've bought a ticket for tonight's Euromillions, so fingers crossed.

Cambridge students were asked in an exam to write about a poem. However they were take aback as the poem consists of nothing other than punctuation

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/blog...ine-monitor-27680904

Here's my take on that poem:

I opened my arms to her

But she kept her arms closed

I opened my arms again

But there was no response

I opened my arms once more

But still there was no response

There was a silence,

I shouted to her "Please let me hug you"

She replied "But why should I?"

Silence.

I opened my arms once more

But there was no response

I opened my arms for the last time

But still there was no response.

There was nothing left to say.

Yogi, I'm glad you are feeling better today. A dodgy prawn cocktail is something that you need to report as it's a serious food hazard.

I don't think it was off, El, just that the prawns were very tough and chewy which upset my seriously dodgy digestive system. Foods that are difficult to digest can set off my Crohn's, even when they are perfectly fresh. I'm sure if Mr Yogi had eaten the prawn cocktail, he would have been fine - he has an iron-clad stomach.

Good morning everyone, very wet here.

Oh no Yogi, Crohn's is a misery to live with isn't it?   Hope your tummy settles down today.

I've dug out my old charger, I didn't dare use the laptop much yesterday as the charger had given up the ghost completely.

Off to take my old boiler to the tip with my eldest grandson to help this morning.  He couldn't lift it to take it to the car, he had to drag it it's so heavy, so we will need help when we get there.

Enjoy your day and I hope you manage to dodge any rain

squiggle

Squiggle, I hope your new laptop charger arrives soon, that the rain eases for you when yout and your grandson go to the tip, and that you get help when your get there with the boiler

(where I live, there are frequent scrap metal dealers touring the roads looking for stuff to collect and something like a boiler would get snapped up by them pretty quickly).

I feel a lot better today.

I hope your new charger arrives soon. It horrible waiting for the old one to give up the ghost, never knowing when that might be.

Your grandson is a lovely lad for helping with the boiler. I hope someone at the tip will give him a hand to lift it out.

Yogi I wish those prawns had been fresh & juicy for you yesterday instead of tough, how are you feeling this morning?

Squiggle I hope you get rid of the boiler smoothly, your grandson is kind to help you

Our local scrap lads would have picked it up pretty swiftly too

I feel a lot better, thanks Summer.
