*night owls*

Apologies- I had a quiet morning at work but poor internet coverage due to heavy rain. This afternoon got out brighter and work was hectic! I finished late, walked bramble, helped prepare tea, had a bath, ate tea and tried to solve a few people's problems via text, inbetween!
It's ok- I'll be on an actual holiday soon

Moonie, it's good to see you back, I hope you're recovering well
I'll be in the bee hive real soon

Squiggle- how did your friend get on? Is she feeling alright since her outing?

El, I hope the rain didn't cause too many problems in your area today

Sweetest of dreams in here and leaving hugs for our absent friend
~Sparkling Summer~

Good morning, everyone.

The sun is shining up here, atm. I'll try to get my gardening done this morning, in case the weather changes later on.

El, I finally managed to to watch An Inspector Calls. I had never seen it before and enjoyed it. A reminder to all of us, that the way we treat people can have consequences.

Hubby has the day off but I doubt we will be going out as I am expecting an Argos delivery, and knowing my luck, it won't arrive until early evening.

Have a good day, everyone.

Good morning everyone, I hope your delivery arrives sooner rather than later Yogi.

Hi Summer, yes my friend is looking much stronger, she has put on a stone (she had gone down to 7st) and is starting to enjoy life again.  She is the one who told me about a free boiler, she has just got one.  It was nice to see her out and about again.

I enjoyed An Inspector Calls too very thought provoking.

My lovely grandson managed to get all 3 plants in and then chopped down a tree that was beginning to be a bit of a nuisance.  He is coming back on his next day off to put a new little bit of plastic mesh fencing so we can support some climbing fuchsias that are struggling.  Do you know he is working so many extra hours as 7 or 8 chefs have left and not been replaced and he says they are not paying him any extra money at all.  He knows what he is doing though because he has his eye on the future and promotion, clever lad.

We have had torrential rain but it is dry now and just showery for the rest of the day I think.  I hope everyone manages to stay dry and enjoy the day, Bank Holiday Weekend too

squiggle

Good morning everyone

I'm late this morning as my broadband connection was down. I took the opportunity to pop into town and bank the cheque from that client in Hereford and a couple of others. On the fairly rare times that my Virgin Media connection has been down it's come back within a couple of hours. And as you can see, it's back. Hopefully it won't play up again today. I know that my area is being upgraded to a faster speed with a date set by the end of June so it's possible that there may be times where the connection is affected.

It's cloudy here, a bit of drizzle while I was out, and cooler than it has been. I'm not aware that the rain has caused any problems locally. Summer, I hope the rain doesn't continue to cause you internet problems.

Yogi, I hope your Argos delivery arrives earlier rather than later.

Squiggle, I'm glad your friend's health is improving. Do you know yet if you've qualified for the free boiler? Apologies if you've already said, but I can't recall it.

El Loro

I'm glad your broadband is back up and running, El. I feel completely lost when my broadband goes down.

Squiggle, your grandson is a wee gem. I hope his employers appreciate all the extra work he is doing and he is rewarded when the next lot of promotions happen.

I'm glad your friend is getting better and enjoyed her day out.

Brilliant news that you are getting a new boiler. You'll be toasty warm next winter.

Still waiting on the Argos delivery. Last time, it was afternoon before they turned up.

Yogi, have you ever looked at the Shut! delivery option from Argos? It looks as if when you are ordering online you check if the item is in a local store, then if it is, by using the Shut! option you can specify within an hour when the item is to be delivered. Potentiallly csutomers can get their order delivered within 90 minutes of ordering though that depends on customer's locality and the traffic conditions. It does cost more with a minimum of ÂĢ4-95 and it depends on size, weight and also customers address. But it might be of interest for people who really need to get something delivered at a set time.

I'd never noticed the Shut! Delivery option. Thanks for the link, it's definitely something I would consider in the future.

Eldest son phoned to say PB had asked if she could stay with granny this afternoon. What he meant was, they have things to do which would be easier if a certain little madam wasn't getting into everything.

See you all later.

Jason Durr (PC Bradley in Heartbeat and DI Peterson in a couple of episodes of Lewis where it looked at that time if he was interested in Laura Hobson) is going to take over as Hercule Poirot.

But before you keel over in shock, he's taking over from Robert Powell in the stage production of Black Coffee. Black Coffee was Agatha Christie's first play written in 1930, some 12 years before she wrote The Mousetrap.

Then there's the new Poirot book written by Sophie Hannah to be released in September. Little is known about the book apart from the title:

You'll need to watch the clip to find out the title unless you've read about it in the papers.

El, I have no idea which one is zero rated, but both are calorie laden - and delicious!

Is it something to do with one being considered a biscuit and the other a cake?

Thank you El and Moonie, we had a lovely afternoon with PB. She is constantly on the go and in at everything, so perhaps granny might lose a couple of pounds running after her.

My cuddle-o-meter is full to the max and I got lots of kisses too. She will be back tomorrow for her scheduled minding, so I'll get another lot of cuddles.

Yogi19
Evening all, sorry I'm late! So much going on here, I'm very happy to be relaxing at last, with a small glass of red wine!

I want that hedge!

Yogi, PB sounds like she is growing up fast! I'm glad you had some extra time with her

Squiggle that's great news about your friend, she must feel a huge difference with a stone on, well done her
Your grandson is a gem, I hope his efforts will be rewarded in the near future

Thanks for that, I think I might need it.

Evening Moonie, have you had a good day?

I'm sure you will

Hi Yogi, yep my day has been good fankoo. Notwithstanding the cold wet weather

We had sunshine in the morning but it's pretty cold tonight.

Mine is on too. I don't like to be cold, as my brain shuts down.
