That theme tune is nice but it wasn't my favourite.  As kids we loved the Robin Hood theme, 'Robin Hood Robin Hood riding through the glen' which we used to sing with gusto.  One of my favourite stories was of an organist at a wedding at about the time of the film 'Robin Hood Prince of Thieves' was popular with the haunting 'Everything I Do I Do It For You' theme.  Well the young couple requested the Robin Hood theme for their exit from church and the organist must have been of my generation because he misunderstood and played happily away to 'Robin Hood Robin Hood riding through the glen'

Yogi this plant buying is very addictive isn't it?  I hope I have reined myself in now but there are soooo many lovely plants out there

Enjoy your day everyone.

lol Squiggle, the story of the organist playing the wrong Robin Hood theme at a wedding, is the first thing I think of when I hear 'Robin Hood, Robin Hood, riding through the glen'.

I bought some plants to put in the hanging basket outside the back door and some more herbs, and another dianthus, because I have a bit of an obsession with dianthus/carnations - I adore the scent and they remind me of my paternal grandmother's garden.

I love the scent of carnations too.  I never understand why some people are so snobby about them, I think they are pretty and smell divine.

My photinia came, I could not have afforded that size of plant in our local garden centre.  It's in a 33 litre container and is about 5ft tall, in our local garden centre it would have been double the price.

I think carnations went out of gardening fashion, Squiggle, but, as I have never been someone who follows fashions of any kind, I don't care.

Wow, that is a good sized photinia shrub you have got.

It's been a calm day, but productive too, there's things I just can't get done when my hands are busy doing hair..

 I understand what you mean.

Son was showing me pics of their soon-to-be new kitten. The seller is a friend of his GF, so this time things will go smoothly. They are picking her up a week on Sunday. She's a little grey bundle and seems really friendly - even though I am not a cat lover, she does look cute.

It does look sweet. Son isn't really a cat lover either but he knew it would be hard to resist a little kitten. He has made his GF promise that they can get a dog in years to come.

Yes, and bramble saw her over the fence and wanted to play, I can't wait for her to be fully vaccinated so they can meet properly

I hope moonie is feeling better tonight

It will be nice when they can play together.

Keira seems to have made friends with neighbour's daughter's Westie pup through the fence. Our neighbours mind the pup a few days each week and the pup used to yap a lot, then Keira would bark back, but over the last week, they sniff each other through the fence, wag their tales and no barking.

Moonie did pop in earlier but I don't think he is 100% yet.

That's not so good. I just need to get some things planted out, so even an hour of dry weather ought to be enough.

Good morning everyone Summer over EL? I hope the weather forecaster was joking.

My lovely youngest grandson has offered to pop over later on and plant the latest 2 plants for me, on his precious day off too.  They are short-staffed at the hotel so he is working crazy hours.

What a lovely picture of those carnations, aren't they gorgeous and I can practically smell the lovely scent too.

I've rushed around like a mad thing putting the rubbish out and putting 2 bags of books in the car for my daughter and a bag of dog food for Tilly before the rain gets going.  On my way to housegroup I am picking up my friend who has been so ill, it's her first outing then onto drop off the books and dog food at my daughter's and my eldest grandson will be there too to say hi to my friend.

Have a great day everyone, moonie hope you are feeling better now

Afternoon.

I have returned from grocery shopping and have Cadbury's Mini Rolls and French Fancies if you'd like one?

Morrisons had carnations as the plant of the week at ÂĢ1.33. I was soooo tempted but I resisted.

Moonie, I hope you are feeling better.

Squiggle, your grandson has a kind heart, what a helpful lad.

I hope your friend enjoyed her outing and I'm sure it will have lifted her spirits.

Is work busier or quieter today, Summer?

 I'm afraid not. I'm a bit of a carnation-aholic.

I used to have a lot in the garden but they all seemed to have vanished now Yogi

It has been cloudy all day, up here. No sign of rain or thunder yet, but we did have prolonged thunderstorms a few nights ago.
