I am doing this right or is there a quicker way to get to the last posting??

As far as I can see, you are quite right, I am having to do the same thing as you, and don't see that there is a quicker way of getting to the last post. Private PMs are done on a different system to these forum pages, and I doubt if many PMs go much beyond a handful of posts. I don't think it's a good idea to suggest to Seattle that they change this as it doesn't warrant the amount of programming needed.

There are other differences I have noticed. There are 20 posts per page on a PM compared to 40 on the forum. Also when you make a post on a page after the first page on a PM, the very first post is shown at the top of the page, followed by the posts on the last page. When you go back, the last page just shows the posts on that page. These are just quirks which I'm happy to leave as is.

Good morning everyone

I think I must be in Narnia, because when I woke up and drew open the curtains, all the trees are white as on a Christmas card. But it's not snow, but an exceptional quantity of frost. The freezing fog never lifted yesterday, and it will be here for several hours, if not all day. But I think today is the last day as bad as this for the time being, at least in Gloucester.

Yogi and Skylark, I hope your weather improves soon. I heard that they are not expecting more snow for the time being, and the major roads are less bad - it's all the other roads which are the problem.

Good morning everyone, bright and frosty here, hoping for a steady improvement in temperature.  Oh don't you just feel for those poor souls stuck on roads for that long?  I hope those icy conditions improve for you Yogi and Skylark, and we await a weather report from our East Counties reporter (Joyron)   Liking the new theme how 'bout you?  Bright and cheerful and easy to read, hope this one's a keeper

Good morning squiggle

I suspect that quite a few of us prefer this simple black text on white background to the grey ones, though I know that those who like the dark backgrounds find this to be too bright for them. I think I can tolerate all the themes shown so far apart from the first one - the one with those black dots.

I noticed a few minutes ago that the room wasn't warm, so I touched the radiator and it was cold, as were the others. I had a look at the bolier settings and the heating was off. Then I realised that there was a brief power cut last night, and it had messed up the boiler settings, so I corrected the settings and the heating is back on. I'll remember that in future.

The power cut happened just after 9 last night. It only lasted a few minutes though. I think that it is possible that it was connected with people switching on kettles after the conclusion of last night's Coronation Street. I don't watch it myself, but I know enough to realise that last night's episodes would probably be the most watched television in years, and in the past, this has resulted in sudden huge demands on the National Grid.

So, Corrie is to blame for your power cut.

My hubby has finally made it home. He's had something to eat, taken his meds and gone to bed. One of his colleagues took 19 hours to get home yesterday/this morning.
Youngest son is back in work, after his night in the hotel. Hopefully, he'll be home tonight.
Middle son and his girlfriend weren't able to make it into work today. There are no buses running and driving conditions are treacherous. The police are recommending that commuters do not go out.
Eldest son did not manage into work last night, for the first time ever. He couldn't even get the car out of his street.

Hope to take a trip out in the car this morning. Will be back later.
Take care when you are out and about.

I like this new colour scheme, it's easier on the eye for me.

Oooh, get me and the multiple quoting.  *preens*

At least everyone is safe at present

Locally, this is certainly the coldest day time temperature in years. In Fahrenheit terms I reckon it's about 20 degrees colder than the average December day time temperature. Luckily, it's supposed to get warmer by Thursday/Friday.

Skylark, I saw your PM and I've posted a reply which you may want to read.
