9 and a half hours was a brilliant time, well done you. I'd need 9 and a half days to do it.
Dinner was roast beef and yorkshire pudding with all the trimmings, followed by a choice of apple pie or raspberry pavlova with cream.

Did you have plenty of nice things to eat on your way round?
I think you deserved the jelly babies and mint cake.
I'm glad Bramble and your BiL had a good day together.
I haven't had any cogs but I haven't made many posts tonight.
I'm supposed to be minding PB one day this week but Dil hasn't said which day for definite. I think it will probably be Wednesday .
Not too long to wait.
I've bought her a couple of sets of soft touch animals. One set is farm animals and the other is wild animals. Maybe I can teach her some more animal impressions to go with her fish and piggy ones.
Sorry Summer, I will need to go now. Goodnight and sweet dreams and well done again on completing the challenge.
Night owl hug for Ros.
For absent friends. Come back soon.
Good morning everyone. Weather is cloudy and dry atm.
Apart from some housework, I might have a lazy day, watching the Oscar Pistorius trial.
What is everyone else up to?
Good morning everyone
Fairly sunny here but forecast to cloud over though should be dry until late evening.
Summer, well done on your walk and your time of 9.5 hours
For those missing Downton Abbey, BBC2 are repeating the 1974 series The Pallisers early afternoon starting today. There was one series made of 26 episodes and were based on the novels by Anthony Trollope (same family as Joanna but not directly).

Good morning El. I remember watching The Pallisers in the seventies and I enjoyed it. Thanks for the heads up, I'll watch it again.
Good morning Summer. You have earned that bar of chocolate.
Hubby nearly always has to work Bank Holidays, and he's working today which means I can have a lazy day.
Peace, perfect peace.
Did the bath help your aching muscles? Do you have any lavender bath soak?
Summer, I hope your stiffness eases during the day and that the bath helped
I'm off to see a client. I know it's a bank holiday but I've got my boiler being serviced tomorrow (routine annual one) and I've got courses for much of Wednesday so it's convenient for both of us to meet this morning.

I hope your meeting with the client (and the servicing of your boiler) goes well.
Well done Summer, and in such a brilliant time too Lovely to feel so fit and strong
That sounds like a lovely lunch Yogi, right up my street.
Ooh thanks for the tip EL, I will give The Pallisers another try. I wish they would repeat The Forsyte Saga, I remember really enjoying that, I can't remember too much about The Pallisers.
Moonie I hope you enjoy your break from the forum and come back feeling refreshed
I hope all goes well with your client EL. Have a great day everyone, no matter what you're up to.
I am glad you are not too stiff now, another long soak tonight and I think you will be fresh as a daisy tomorrow.
I intend to do as little as possible, I woke up with a very sore left shoulder, I must have slept awkwardly but it's making life quite difficult.

I hope the pain in your shoulder eases off. Can you rub some Voltarol or similar ointment onto it, or is it in a difficult to reach position?
Good idea Yogi, I hadn't thought of that. I just rubbed some Movelat in, the shoulder did feel very sore as I was rubbing it in, let's see if it helps. Thank you

I hope it helps, Squiggle.
I'm back from seeing my client. She's one of my nicer clients and I've done her tax return for years and also her son's and daughter's returns when returns have been required.
Squiggle, I hope the Movelat helps your shoulder.
I found this document on the Northern Devon NHS site about frozen shoulders. Although that's not what you have there are some useful general shoulder exercises on pages 4 to 6 which may help. Some of them are similar to the ones I had when I had that rotor cuff injury in my left shoulder last year and they did help a lot.
http://www.northdevonhealth.nh..._frozen_shoulder.pdf
Thank you EL, very kind, I have saved a copy of the PDF and shall print it up, I think one or two of the exercises might be very useful. The first one is very similar to the one I was given for after a mastectomy when you have to get the arm back in use again and ensure it does not stiffen up. When I think about it the weakness in the arm is similar to when I had that operation.
Squiggle, thank you. As the document says, if there's no improvement in your shoulder or it gets worse, you would need to see your doctor.
I'm re-watching Cranford. What a contrast between Jamaica Inn, the latest offering from the BBC. Cranford is stuffed with wonderful actors with impeccable diction, you can hear every word. I think I am enjoying it more this time around, it is so funny and touching.
Squiggle, I loved Cranford and agree with everything you said.
If they keep dishing out stuff I'm not keen on I think I will be digging out Pride & Prejudice with Colin Firth and Jennifer Ehrle soon
Squiggle, the Drama channel showed that entire Pride & Prejudice series yesterday lasting 6 hours. Sometimes they repeat series quite quickly so you might want to look at their schedules though 6 hours at one go is a bit of a marathon.
I was one of the many people who saw the first episode of Jamaica inn, had to turn on the subtitles, and didn't bother seeing the other 2 episodes. The BBC got heavily criticised and it's possible that they might redo the voices and then repeat it. The BBC would hope to sell the series to other countries and I dount if the States would be prepared to buy it as it is.
I have it on DVD but thanks EL. Even with the hard to hear dialogue set aside I thought Jamaica Inn was very badly done.
I had intended to watch Jamaica Inn (had recorded it) but with all the talk about hard to hear dialogue, I deleted it without watching.
My internet has been playing up tonight, so if I disappear without saying goodnight to everyone, you'll know it's just a connection problem.
Internet has been down again, so I will say goodnight, while I can.
Goodnight and sweet dreams. Hopefully, things will be back to normal tomorrow.
Night owl hugs for Summer and Ros.
Love to Moonie and Skylark, our absentees.
