Hi Buddies
Hazy sunshine and warmish, no breeze as such

Shopping done and cuppa just downed

El, good info

Yogi, I hope everything went okay with your doctors appointment and enjoy you visit to the garden centre too

Sweet, I hope you have a good day at work, not to busy

Squiggle, I loved the Good Life but not so Ever Decreasing Circles. I just found some of the characters really annoying

Have a happy day everyone

Moonie
I used to like To the manor born if I see it's on when I'm channel hopping, I'll always put it on

I'm not keen on the dark crime series, I like shows that make me smile & laugh (game of thrones excluded, that's just great stories)

Moonie, I've had a steady morning but now it's calmed down, I'm loving it

I'll need my strength for this coming Sunday- it's the big walk I've been training for since new year. I've gone past fear, now I'm just excited and keen to get it done

Steady is good. Calmer is better
Is it a long walk Sweet? Is Bramble going with you?

Moonie

Talking of long walks, yesterday there was a long walk for charity starting from the pub very close to my church (Chetlenham side of Gloucester) to Cheltenham. Some 700 people did the walk. The money was raised for the Hollie Gazzard Foundation set up in memory of Hollie Gazzard killed 2 months ago. The walk has been on the local television news. The circumstances of her death are extremely distressing so I will not go into details as they could easily cause deep upset if I did.

I will post one picture of the start of the walk as you can see my church in the background

Exciting Summer, how long is the big walk?

I had several many years ago Squiggle but needless to say they didn't last long

It was white ÂĢ5 notes that I used to love.  When I saw my Dad with one they seemed so huge and they were a fortune!  If you had a ten bob note when I was a kid you were rich! I'd love to get one now, a white ÂĢ5 note, and they have them on eBay but guess what?  I still can't afford them

I don't have any ÂĢ50 notes - unfortunately!

Squiggle, I'm a big fan of Ever Decreasing Circles. In fact, I was watching an episode when I read the news (online) of Richard Briers' death.

Hubby and I both have purple rain jackets. On the rare occasion when we wear them at the same time, we refer to it as a Howard and Hilda day.

I loved the more gentle comedies, such as As Time Goes By, To The Manor Born, Butterflies, The Good Life and Watching.

I do like my crime thrillers too.

*waits with everyone to find out how long Summer's walk will be*

Evening all I hope you've had a good day

The walk is about 25 miles wish me luck! I plan to eat my way around it

El, I dare not google Hollie, but I hope the walk gave some comfort to her family & friends. I'm guessing she was quite young by the looks of her picture on the t-shirts

I've had a few ÂĢ50 notes before, but not for long- I withdrew a large sum of cash from the bank to pay for a car

I didn't sleep well last night, so I'm heading off to bed.

Goodnight and sweet dreams to you.

Night owl hugs for Moonie and Ros. I hope your first day back at work went okay, Ros.

Hi and bye Yogi
Sorry you didn't sleep well

Hope the visit to see the nurse went well this morning
Goodnight. Sleep better tonight and have sweet dreams

There was something from a series or 2 ago that had remained unexplained, until tonight, but I had guessed what the explanation was way back then anyway

The show is usually very unpredictable though, I often find myself holding my breath when watching it!
It's usually about 10 or 12 episodes long, not a long series but definitely intense

What shows are you watching lately?

Ahh right so plenty of episodes to get your teeth into yet then?

I tend to be sport orientated but still have the last of Endeavour to watch and recorded Vera last night too

I see, that's great- I'll be on holiday and away from drunken idiots in the streets here! then I'll be so relaxed after my holiday that they won't annoy me when I have to go back to work. Great planning football peeps

Moonie I have to go get some sleep, I've an early start tomorrow. I don't know where the evening has gone!
Sweet dreams

Leaving hugs for absent & sleeping friends

Summer, Hollie lived in Churchdown and had no direct connection with my church The reason why the walk started at the pub close to my church was that she had worked in the pub. Her memorial service was held at Gloucester Cathedral where some 800 people attended. Our church is having its 80th annivesary this year. There was a dance supper in the church hall on Saturday as part of the celebrations. Some of the money raised was given to the charity set up in her memory.
