Good morning everyone.  I am pleased that your tummy has settled down Yogi.  Summer I hope you are walking normally this morning and the aches have settled down.

Off to the garden centre and my brain is all in a tizzy.  Rhododendron, Philadelphus, Lavatera, Spiraea, Azalea, Weigela I wish I had a brain like Alan Titchmarsh and knew just what would work best with the slope.   Also I have a forest of raspberry plants sprung up out of nowhere further along and they will all have to go.

Enjoy your day everyone, I hope the sun shines on you.

Good morning everyone

We have blue sky and warm sunshine already

Sweet, sorry I missed you last night. I was shattered so took to me bed earlier than usual

El, pleased you have sunshine too

Yogi, sunshine for you as well

Pleased your tum is okay

Enjoy the gardening and attack those weeds

Squiggle, half the fun of gardening is going to the garden centre and thinking "Oh, I like that and that. I don't know what they are called but I like them"

Sweet, I hope you have recovered and less crab like in your gate today

I had my washing out by 8-20 this morning

Shocking isn't it?

Have a great day everyone and enjoy the lovely weather

Thanks Squiggle.

You were very early getting your washing out.

I've done some gardening, but it is interfering with my trial watching.

I shall cut the front lawn, after the trial has ended for the day, and that's all the gardening I'm doing for today.

Good afternoon, it's a beautiful sunny day here. I had a non stop morning.

Moonie I hope you slept well, you must have needed an early night

Squiggle I hope your visit to the garden centre has gone well

I do feel less achey today thank you, I can still feel it but I'm not half as sore as yesterday
It was a kettlebell workout DVD yogi. I used to do 3 a week and they are spilt into sections; core, resistance & cardio. Each is only half an hour
Since I got bramble I have spent most of my exercise time walking her, but still squeeze in the odd workout. I usually choose core, because it keeps my back strong for work.
Sunday I decided to do a resistance for a change, which consisted of a lot of squats... I did enjoy it though and am determined to do more of them after my Yorkshire 3 peaks walk is complete.
I've dropped the cardio workouts completely because I get plenty of fat burning walking the dog

My youngest son sometimes does kettlebell classes so I understand why you were aching. You certainly get plenty of cardio workouts with all the walking you do, and considering how much time you spend on your feet at work, you are right to do exercises which strengthen your core.

I am glad you are less sore today Summer, and that the gardening is going well for Yogi and EL.  EL does your garden need a lot upkeep?  Weeding and such?  Mine is mainly shrubs so fairly low maintenance.

We had a successful trip to the garden centre.  We bought 9 shrubs and got a good mixture, 2 rhododendrons, one really lovely creamy lilac, very slow growing but will eventually be fairly tall and one tiny little one.  We bought a very small hebe, a lavatera, a weigela, a philadelphus (belle etoile - beautifully scented) a spiraea, a bit like the wedding veil spiraea but smaller, a shrubby honeysuckle, a bush not a climber, which flowers in winter and fills the whole garden with it's perfume and a physiocarpus which I haven't had before but was recommended for its beautiful foliage in winter.

On top of that we got 3 bags of organic farmyard manure for ÂĢ10 to get some goodness into the slope which as you can imagine is a little sparse on good topsoil.  3 bags of rose, tree and shrub fertiliser and one bag of ericaceous compost.  Plus a bag of white chippings to top the water lilies in the pond - stops the compost from floating away.

My grandson also picked up a birthday card for his mum and a lovely little necklace with 3 hearts on a chain, for her birthday, the 3 hearts representing herself and her 2 boys.

Squiggle, you made fabulous choices. Not only will your garden look beautiful, it will be beautifully scented too.

Your grandson's gift for his mum sounds perfect. I know I'd be delighted to receive something like that. In fact, my DiL and eldest son (I have no doubt it was DiL's idea) bought me a lovely silver necklace. It has three different sized silver circles to represent my eldest, middle and youngest sons (open circles rather than flat discs). They fit inside each other and each circle is engraved with one of my son's names. I love it.

I'm rubbish at describing things so I'll se if I can find a pic of something similar.

The pic will probably disappear after a while. They always do when I copy pics on the ipad.

I knew it, the pic has disappeared. This is a link to something similar

That necklace sounds really beautiful Yogi, how thoughtful.  EL it's nice to have a garden that doesn't demand all your time.  Thanks Summer, I am very pleased with them.  I got my grandson to put them all right by the hose so I can water them every day until the gardener can put them in, with Easter coming up it might be over a week but before that my grandson will put the manure on the slope in preparation, I will probably keep one bag back for mulching around the roots.

EDIT I have just seen the photo Yogi, that is gorgeous

Yogi, I notice that you intend to watch the series of Fargo. Unless you have seen the original film and liked it, treat the series with caution. I know the film has its fans but I found it revolting because of the sadistic violence, littered with expletives, and a very nasty storyline. I'm not going to watch the series. Some of the episodes are written by the Coen brothers who wrote and directed the film.

I haven't seen the original film or the trailers. Thanks El, I think I'll give it a miss.

You could have a look at the IMDB page for the original film, look at the plot synopsis link and the view content advisory link and I think you will see what I mean.

How are you?

I can still feel muscle ache but it's only about 10% of what I was feeling yesterday, thank you.
There was only 2 of us that turned up at yoga so my teacher scrapped her lesson plan and custom made it for us

That must have been good, and I'm glad you are happy tonight.

We are having a PB day tomorrow and are hoping to take her to one of the big parks near us - weather permitting, of course.
