Last Wednesday I got an automated phone call from some outfit claiming that I was entitled to a grant for a new boiler, they also did solar panels and to press 2 to speak to an advisor. Their phone number was withheld.My phone number is registered with the TPS of course so I shouldn't get that type of call.

Last Thurday I had the same phone call.

Last Friday I had the same phone call.

I've just had the same phone call again. So this time I pressed 2 to get through to someone. I asked them for the name of their company. They said with a very strong accent what I think was Green Deal Scheme. I doubt if that's their genuine name as that's the name for the grant scheme.

I then asked for their phone numer. They didn't give it and they phone went dead.

 

However this time I could see the phone number. It's one which has been reported many times for this sort of phone call.

But I have just reported my calls as above to the Information Commissioners Office

Ei, in reference to these 'cold callers' I always think and say sometimes "if I wanted your services I would seek them out, so please take my number of your list." Sometimes it works too

I have an unlisted number and am registered with TPS.

I have been known to get very grumpy with cold callers.

 

 To El for reporting them. The more complaints to the ICO, the more chance of something being done to stop them.

 

I have took to unplugging the house phone. Only I have an extension anyway. So if any one wants me, they call my mobile or leave a message on my house phone answering service

I don't blame you.

Hubby has been getting pestered by calls from PPI insurance people on his mobile. It's automated messages, so can't even have a rant at them.

I have the odd one but just ignore it

Caller Display is my friend. If I don't recognise the number, I don't answer until I've checked it out on Whocallsme.

She hasn't been around much today so perhaps not

 Most of the time, I love it, but weeds are horrible!

I once read that weeds are simply plants which are growing in the wrong place, so maybe it's not their fault?

I bet it was a none-gardener that wrote that

I've had a busy day, and went for a long soak in the bath with some delicious molton brown bath salts- I've been promoted from crab, to penguin! It's really embarrassing too. To think I used to do that work out DVD regularly and it didn't make me ache- clearly it has been a lot longer than I thought since I last did it
