That sounds like a nice mix of shrubs that you are planning.

I have a couple of azaleas in my front garden. They originally belonged to my DiL's late grandfather and still bloom beautifully every year.

Of course I didn't take offence, Squiggle, I knew what you meant.

It's always a comfort to have someone close when you are having an unpleasant treatment.

I've just picked him up and he is lying on the couch with pillows and fleecy blankets - takes me back to when he was a wee boy.

I checked with the dentist and it was the heavy sedation I described earlier, rather than a GA, which was administered. He has been given antibiotics and painkillers and warned that it could still ache for a week or so.

Your poor grandson, a 90 minute dental appointment is not something to look forward to.

Doesn't matter how old they get they are still our babies aren't they?  We mums are soppy

Absolutely, it is in the job description.

I still refer to them as my babies, even though it drives them nuts.

Yogi, I'm glad your son is back home recovering The fleecy blankets are a good idea as they will keep him warm (he could well be in a state of shock from the operation).

Squiggle, as you know, waiting for a dental appointment is often worse than the actual operation. 90 minutes compares to the 105 minutes allocated for my preliminary crown treatment. Sounds a lot, but it passed surprisingly quickly.

He was shivering, so I popped the heating on and gave him the blankets amd now he is sleeping soundly.

Hi Yogi

My day has been quiet but good fankoo I hope you have had a good day too your son apart
How is he now?

That's good, Moonie.

Son slept for five hours. Tbh, I think that was due to the fact he had hardly slept for nights because of the pain from his tooth, as much as it was due to the sedation.

He managed to eat half a bowl of chicken soup before he went home.

I hope so too. It's a very special little lady's birthday, so he needs to be on good form.

He was relieved that the worst is over. He even managed a few smiles before he went home.

 Indeed.

It really has flown past - and every minute has been wonderful. Son and DiL are getting both families together in the afternoon to celebrate.

Knowing her, she'll be more interested in the wrapping paper and empty boxes than anything else.

Yep! When they were moving house, son popped her into a packing box and she loved it. He didn't close it, in case you were wondering.
