Morning everyone, glad you slept well EL , so did I, very refreshing.

Ice on my pond this morning and so I am not going anywhere.  I have given in and put my central heating to come on twice a day instead of once.  My set-up does not have thermostats in rooms so its just a question of setting it when you want it to go on and off.

Good morning everyone.
Lots and lots of snow here. I have managed to drive youngest son to the station (the trains are still running but the service has been disrupted). At one point, son told me to stop the car and he would walk, as we were sliding all over the place - but I kept going and I made it back home in one piece. Son has taken extra money with him, in case he can't get home and has to stay in an hotel.
The gritter came round a few minutes ago, but I don't think it will make any difference since the snow plough hasn't been near and there's at least six inches of snow lying on the road.
I hope you are all staying indoors and keeping warm.

Just to check, I put a thermometer ouside my house on the porch and checked it an hour ago. Minus 5 C at 1,30 in the afternoon. Locally, I think that tonight will start off very cold, but be less cold by the morning, and I think that for the next 3 or 4 days it will still be very cold, but not as extreme as today. But the wind will be increasing so that with the wind chill factor, it will feel cold.

Good morning everyone

Another good night's sleep

Today is D-Day (D=downtime for Gagajoyjoy), so sometime this afternoon we'll be off air for 8 hours, effectively for the rest of the day as far as we are concerned. Lori doesn't know exactly when this will start, but my guess is that it will start between 4 and 5 pm.

Seattle will post news on their news page on Twitter. You might want to add this to your Favourites (IE)/Bookmarks (Firefox) if you want to check on their progress with the upgrade.

Good morning everyone.  Thank you all for thinking of me.  I am feeling a little better today.  El Loro, thank you so much for the little clip above.  It really made me smile.  It was lovely.

We have had a few snow flurries here this morning but nothing more, although it's been extremely frosty.  Hope we don't get the snow that some of you have got.

Will try and get back later today but if not I hope to catch up with you all tomorrow, providing all goes well after the downtime.  Squiggle, you have my email address so please come and find me if necessary!!  Love you all.
Joyron
Hi Joyron nice to hear you are feeling a little better.  Now for all my lovely Buddies who may be feeling lost without this forum later, have you checked out Saga Zone forum?  I have recently joined and there's loads of people on there and really interesting sections to check out, including sections for the areas where you live.  Maybe see you over there?

Nive to hear from you Joyron . I'm pleased you are feeling a bit better today and that you liked that little clip .

I know that today will be shortened, but I am expecting that by tomorrow, things will be back to normal and that we won't have any difficulties in getting on here.

What I don't know is if the housekeeping of unused sections of this website will be taking place at the same time or on a later date. It would make sense for Seattle to do the housekeeping at the same time. This should have minimal effect on us, just that the order of forums on the front page may show some slight differences, but nothing of major significance.

Good morning, everyone

Congratulations to Yogi for being both the last to post here before the changeover and the first to post afterwards.

I was a bit caught out as I was expecting the switch off to be 4 or later but it must have been around 3, and although I tried getting on shortly after 7, I gave up assuming that it would be off until past 11.

Good morning Yogi

Yes, it looks as if all our existing dialogs have gone unless you go through Livecloud.

Other changes I have noticed are that the concept of Buddies has gone, so that when we start PMs we select from everyone without the option of selecting from just Buddies. They are still there over in Livecloud, but it would be a bit of a hassle going from Gagajoyjoy each time you wanted to select just Buddies.

I haven't tried quoting anyone yet, but that apparently has changed. Our walls and blogs are no longer available from Gagajoyjoy. But they are still there over in Livecloud.

https://www.hoo.do/ (if you haven't already done so, it may be worth bookmarking that).

The forum list of members is now just in alphabetical order, and no longer shows the number of forum points. If for some reason you want to see the number of forum points you can see your own from your profile.

I thought there was going to be a search facility for posts, but I can't see that at present. The housekeeping I have mentioned obviously has not yet been done.

At least, the basic forum operation seems to be the same other than the quoting, but I have to confess that I have seen nothing in the way of improvements other than a more stylish appearance.

Reference:
There is now a quote button when you open up the reply box

As you can see, I've worked out the quoting now. For the benefit of the others, open a Post Reply Box first. Highlight the text you want to quote. You may need to move the Post Reply box with your pointer if it covers the text. Then click on the quote icon (2 from the end) (I think it's always been there, but we never used it) and the quote appears. Repeat this process for other quotes. As before you can drag the originator's avatar to the Reference line (I can in Firefox, but this may not be possible in other browsers).

Morning everyone.  I've arrived okay.  Not sure about the colours but, as El Lor said, I'm sure things will change over time.  I've not tried quoting yet.  I'm on IE so that maybe a problem for me at the moment, going by what I've read.  I will have a go later.

It was snowing when I got up around 2.00 am and it's still snowing now so I won't be venturing out in my little car today.

Be back later.
Joyron
