Well done on getting your weeding done and lucky you with your good weather tomorrow. I think the weather is to be better up here on Wednesday and I have to stay at home for a delivery, so that would be a good day for the weeding.

I was just about to start in the garden. Went outside and light rain. Not long after rain stopped. Into the garden off and on all afternoon. Just as I was about to stop the rain came. So good timing

I had hoped to post in between dog walking and going out, but it's always when you've got a deadline that you bump into someone really chatty isn't it!

I've been to a friend's for tea, we've not had a proper catch up for months so it was lovely

Squiggle I hope grandson's cough soon clears, he must be fed up of it now. Did he develop a chest infection? There's a lot of that in my area too I hope he finds the strength to quit smoking, it can't be an easy task.

It's a bit foggy and grey here, but is forecast to become quite a pleasant day.

I have the dentist this afternoon to fix that broken tooth, be nice to get it fixed.

 

Summer yes I think that nasty cough ended up with everyone getting a chest infection it was a really nasty bug.

Squiggle, I hope your dental visit goes well this afternoon.

Thanks EL, the dentist is reasonably confident that a filling would hold but it was a NHS dentist who put the pin in before to strengthen the filling as it is an upper molar at the part where you bite most hard.  If the filling won't hold I suppose he will have to crown it.

Squiggle! Good luck at the Dentists! Hopefully my last visit for a while. Tomorrow they remove the temporary crown and fit the new one!
Then it's a trip to the Doctors. A rather large mole on my back seems to be even larger. Hopefully they can freeze it off like the last one, although I had one cut out a few decades ago! Life seems to be one long carousel between Doctor and Dentist nowadays.

I think this article today on one of the main accountancy websites is an April Fool joke though it's yet to be confirmed as such.

It's quite a clever article as there are elements of truth in it - HMRC have been carrying out a survey into the public perception of HMRC (I took part in it), some of the names mentioned are of real people and the Hamburger University is genuine. However the PR person supposedly appointed has only come into existence on the web in the last week and you won't find the book she wrote anywhere as it doesn't exist.

The dentist seems to have done a good job, the tooth is comfy and looks great, time will tell.

One of the people mentioned in that HMRC article has since posted a comment which ends "though like all the best April Fools, now you come to mention it....."

That's much what I was expecting. I just hope that HMRC doesn't see the article and think it's a good idea.

 

Mentioned on the BBC news today was this legendary April Fool's Day hoax broadcast by Panorama this day in 1957. It is delightful.

And the other lovely BBC April fool's hoax was this from 2008:

I managed to finish my front garden The lawn was still a little wet but it mowed ok It actually looks as though someone cares about it now

Oh! mowed two of the back lawns too. I needed a nap afterwards though
