A day of *all to yourself PB cuddles*

That's very good forward thinking, if I may say so Yogi

Be Prepared.  I'd have made a good Boy Scout (if only I wasn't female).

That sounds like it may well have been the case

I need to be up early, so I'm going to get off now.

Goodnight and sweet dreams, Moonie and Summer.

Hug for Ros.

Goodnight Yogi. Sleep well and I hope the car flies through the MOT tomorrow. Sweet dreams

Good morning everyone

Some rain overnight, showers forecast this morning, and rain this afternoon.

I note that the 1961 film On the Fiddle is on Channel 4 around lunchtime. It's not a particularly good film (sort of comedy with a conman Alred Lynch getting forced to enlist and his attempts to avoid fighting. It's noteable as the second lead is played by Sean Connery a year before he became world famous as Bond.

Good morning everyone. Weather is overcast and there have been a couple of light showers.

Thank you all for your comments about the MOT. I dropped the car off at the garage first thing and hope to get it back later today. I'm not aware of any issues but that doesn't mean there aren't any, so fingers crossed it passes.

My lovely middle son gave me his car to drive home - the building he works in is near to the garage - so I'll be able to drive back later to pick up my car and return sons.

Audrey Hepburn does look different in that clip. She was such a beautiful lady and apparently a lovely person too.

Have a good day, everyone.

I think the term, "as beautiful on the inside, as she was on the outside" describes her perfectly.

The one Audrey Hepburn film that I have never seen is Two for the Road which was made in 1967. It seems to be somewhat different from what we think of as an Audrey Hepburn film as it's about a couple (her and Albert Finney) loooking back over their troubled 10 year marriage. The reviews I've seen indicate that it's a good film but although IMDB calls it a comedy I suspect it's a serious one. The script was by Frederic Raphael whose films and television work seem to suggest to me that it's not likely to be a light hearted frothy comedy.

Great news Yogi, that's a relief.  I was recently telling my friend in Canada about my car going in for an MOT and they don't have such a system over there.  She seemed to think the MOT was a good idea but the yearly anxiety makes me wonder whether I agree with her or not especially as the test itself is not cheap, it's over ÂĢ50 just for that bit, let alone a service or any problems they find.

That's good news indeed Yogi

Thanks everyone. I'm relieved.

I agree with you about the anxiety bit, Squiggle. I must admit my stomach churns when my car goes for its MOT, in case the news is bad.

I'm surprised Canada doesn't have some sort of annual car check system in place, and I wonder if America has?

When we were in Corfu a few years ago, it seemed that there was no MOT system in place, as many cars were being held together by rust and bits of string! I kid you not.

Summer, if you mean the Sean Connery one "On the Fiddle" I saw it years ago and didn't think much of it and I didn't bother to record it today. If you mean the Audrey Hepburn one "Two for the Road" I would watch it if it was shown on television but I wouldn't pay to rent or buy the DVD (it is available from Amazon).
