I have see loads of bumbly bees already this year Yogi

That's good news, as they have been on the decline in recent years.

 I'm sure you are right.

The gentleman in question thinks the bees are in decline because a lot of bee keepers have taken too much honey from the hives.. not sure how true that is but he's certainly very successful so he must know how much to take without harming the swarm

He sounds like a very responsible bee keeper.

Good morning everyone, we do have blue skies here but it is really cold.  Wrap up for your walk Summer won't you?

I am glad yesterday went well Yogi, and that PB enjoyed her day with you even though she was quieter.

I made quite a big step today I think, I saw what I thought was a bit of brown fluff on the carpet and bent down to pick it up but it was a spider, normal size one, and I calmly picked it up and walked over to the window and let it out, it ran about a bit on my hand and I wasn't a bit scared,  I talked to it and said 'come on little one let's let you out', progress I think.

Well done, Squiggle.

I no longer scream when I see a spider but my heart still races and I start to panic. I don't know where my fear comes from as both my parents don't mind spiders in the least.

It's becoming cloudier up here, too.

Mr Yogi thanks you for your heads up about Destry Rides Again. He likes a good Western and watched it.

Hi Moonie, hope your day is going well. See you later.

Yogi19

Yogi, I'm glad Mr Yogi liked Destry Rides Again, it's one of the best Westerns.

Tucked away in the television schedules is the 1930 classic All Quiet on the Western Front. (ITV4 00.15 am very early tomorrow morning). This would be showing because of the centenary of the start of WW1 this year. This is the definitive anti-war film and is unusually for an American film told from the viewpoint of the young German recruits in the first World War. This is the Lew Ayres version rather than the lesser remake with Richard Thomas.

Obviously it's as serious a film as has ever been made and the final scene makes the film one of the most powerful and greatest films of all time and one that you will never forget. Why it's being tucked away on ITV4 at midnight when it should be being shown at peak time on BBC1 or ITV1 I don't know.

I'm back it's still a beautiful day here, I ended up walking 10 miles! I bumped in to lots of other dogs & their owners and stopped for an ice cream
The only down side is that Bramble rolled on the very decomposed carcas of something and I had to put up with the stench in the car on the way home I have shampooed her twice and sprayed her.

Yogi I hope you're enjoying a restful day

Squiggle that's brilliant, well done I could catch a spider with a jug & piece of card, but not in my hands
~Sparkling Summer~

Thanks for your support everyone, it does feel good not to be so scared.  I used to be terrified to be in the same room as a spider.  My hubby used to catch the spiders for me until his stroke and so it's taken me a few years to get to grip with it but the spider catcher helped, it helped me to see them up close in the tube of the catcher and see they weren't really so scary, in fact I could see that they were probably terrified of me.

Well done Summer on your walk, dogs do make you laugh, I wonder why these disgusting things smell so nice to them that they want to smell just the same

squiggle

Hi Buddies, again

Hi Yogi My day is going well fankoo That Destry film, is that the one one with James Stewart in?

El, hope you are having a good Sunday

Sweet, I hope you didn't over do it *take pulse and temperature*

Doctor with Stethoscope emoticon [Sick emoticons)Yep, you're okay

Oh dear me Bramble, you do manage to get in lot of mischief Serves you right you had to have two baths   But I bet you smell really sweet now

Squiggle, well done on being able to catch spiders yourself now

Later friends

Moonie

Moonie, it was the James Stewart Destry Rides Again film. It's a better film than the remake called Destry (starring Audie Murphy). Some people think that Destry Rides Again is a sequel to Destry because of the title but that's not the case.

There was an eatlier version which starred Tom Mix who was the best known star of westerns in the days of silent films.

I like your picture of the dog

Summer, I'm glad you had a decent walk even if Bramble did roll in something revolting.

I would have thought the same about the one being a sequel to the other tbh El

I think I have seen the Audie Murphy version too

Now I have heard of Tom Mix but don't ever recall seeing him

Its amazing what google can cough up El

Bramble didn't look so thrilled as that though
I do feel ok thanks, I was originally aiming for about 3 miles but felt fine and the weather was good so I kept extending my route. After my Ice cream I was alright to go even further

Have you enjoyed the day's sport?

Fankoo. I thought it would amuse my friends here

I'm glad you are okay Sweet and that your extended walk went well. Ice cream sure does help

How's Mr Summer today, Sweet?

I couldn't get into more than one game today so have been watching various drama series. Mrs Marple, Murdoch mysteries and the Doctor Blake Mysteries

Thanks for the info El

I have seen John Wayne in Stagecoach. One of his earliest films. The joys of the various Film Channels
