I am glad you slept well Summer but you definitely need to take it easy today, Bramble gets plenty of long walks so it will do her good to put her feet up too.

I agree Summer, absolutely disgusting ripping off people like that.  Those guys this morning were lovely and one said I hope we get the job I would love to work up here, oh bless.

I went to my local filling station to get some petrol only. The pump didn't start as normal, the man who works there came out, said something unintelligible (he's Indian or from that part of the world) then went back in the shop. I tried again and this time the pump worked. I went into the shop to pay only to discover that they couldn't accept cards only cash and that's what he had been trying to tell me. Luckily I had been to the bank last weekend so had enough cash on me.

Thieves dug a tunnel in order to steal cash from a cash machine inside Tesco.

 

I seem to remember seeing a British comedy many years ago which had a similar idea but can't remember what it's called. It would have been made in the 50s or early 60s. I know there was an American film made in 1942 called Larceny Inc (Edward G Robinson) which was remade by woody Allen as Small Times Crooks in 2000 (Tom Hanks) but it's neither of those.

 

EL that rings a bell.  In a bid to find out the name of the movie I did a Google search and your post came up on page 3!

El, your poor mum, what a bunch of ratbags. We have notices in some of the local shops and health centre, warning people (particularly the elderly) about rogue traders in the area.

I think the film I was thinking of was a 1965 film called The Big Job. It had Sid James in and some of the other Carry On team.

Team of crooks rob a bank, they are pursued by the police and manage to stash the cash in a hollow tree before being caught. 15 years later, they are released from prison so go to try to get the money only to find that the tree is in the grounds of a police station which had been built while they were inside. They try various ways of retrieving the money, one of which is to try to tunnel their way into the grounds.

That sounds familiar.

Well, probably shopping although the weather is wet and windy here. For the next 3 days too so I guess not a lot

I managed a little food and feel ok after so that's a good sign, I'm still sore, tired & have a headache, but generally a lot better than yesterday

Thanks I just wish our customers would apply it too, it's going around but people don't stay indoors for long enough. I'm alright usually but there's a lot of elderly people around who would be very poorly if they caught it.
