Did Kiera howl at all?

Mr summer is very happy to have Bramble home

No, I don't remember Keira ever howling.

Did Bramble make a fuss of Mr Summer when she saw him?

She never tells is the full story either, I've uncovered that she's been over his almost daily- sharing food, getting him medicines, doing his chores, having cuppa's...
She won't get over him doing that, but she's a grown woman and can do as she pleases

I'm turning in, got work tomorrow. Sweet dreams yogi & moonie
Leaving hugs for our absent friend

It sounds like she is far from over him.  I just hope she doesn't get hurt again.

Good morning everyone, it's very foggy here today, as you say EL, very low visibility but like you I don't have to go out until this afternoon.  It's my house group this afternoon, it's a lovely group and we are studying The Sermon On The Mount at the moment which is very interesting.

Hope the ironing goes smoothly Yogi, and the grocery shopping.

Enjoy your day everyone.

Squiggle, I hope the fog has lifted in your area by this afternoon. Studying the Sermon on the Mount is very interesting as there is so much in it.

A passing thought. The last part of it Matthew 7 24:26:

24 â€œEveryone then who hears these words of mine and does them will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock. 25 And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house, but it did not fall, because it had been founded on the rock. 26 And everyone who hears these words of mine and does not do them will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand. 27 And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell, and great was the fall of it.”

That is quite possibly where the famous story of the three little pigs is derived from.

The fog is slowly lifting here and it is a bit brighter than this morning. Tomorrow morning's forecast is a repeat of this morning.

There were 5 crashes (one serious) on that dangerous stretch of road on the A417 this morning due to the fog. That's the road I posted about in early November last year where there were 3 fatalities within a few hours. The local councils and emergency services have been trying to get the government to get the Highway Agency to do something. Although the A417 is a major road (it connects the M4 and the M5) the stretch of road which is the problem stretch is only single-carriage and besides councils and emergency services, businesses are wanting this to be made into a dual carriage way to make it both safer and improve the local economy. It would also make it faster for travelling between Swindon and Birmingham so it's not just the local economy.

Shopping and ironing are done. I have apple cake, if anyone would like some?

I hope your House Group meeting has gone well. The topic sounds very interesting.

No real fog when I was out and about but there is a low mist and it's very damp and cold.

El, that is awful that there have been so many accidents. I wonder how many were due to the fog, and how many were due to drivers not lowering their speed to suit the conditions?

Yogi19

Yogi, I think it likely that the drivers weren't lowering their speed to take account of the fog. The BBC news article on this did say that it was very foggy on that road. When I saw today's forecast yesterday I did think that I wouldn't be surprised if I heard of crashes this morning. Unfortunately tomorrow morning is forecast to be very foggy as well. There has been hardly any wind here at all today and that means it takes a lot longer for fog to lift.

I find driving in fog a real strain and always end up with a headache. It never ceases to surprise me that some drivers take terrible risks in bad weather conditions.

The mist is getting lower, so it looks like the fog won't be long before it arrives here.

Yogi19

The A417 from near Gloucester to Cirencester which is the road with the accidents is very straight for much of the way. It is one of the oldest roads in the country as in Roman times it was Ermin Street. Roman roads were famed for their straightness.

But it does dip and rise along the way and is a single carriageway. Being straight means that drivers can lose concentration. Impatient drivers will get behind a driver travelling at a sensible speed and then overtake. But with the road dipping and rising pockets of fog can form and catch drivers out when they think they can overtake not realising until too late that there's a vehicle coming the other way.

In a hurry to get nowhere, or into the next life.

Frightening to think of impatient drivers putting their lives (and others) at risk to save a few minutes.

The house group meeting was good Yogi, we did murder and adultery today, well we discussed it, otherwise it could have got a bit out of hand   As you can imagine it lead to some interesting discussions.  The couple hosting it were both divorced before they met each other, and weren't Christian at that time so it was interesting as some people believe that divorce is a no-no for Christians and some take a more liberal view.

Does it make a difference that in their case, neither had found their faith until after their divorces?

Of course, when Prince Charles becomes King, there will be a divorced person who will be Head of the Church of England. Not everyone agrees with that.

Yogi19

My viewpoint on it is that what God wants above all else is to have a relationship with each one of us.  They both felt that their earlier marriages were a mistake and I think that they are a wonderful example of two people that God has brought together.  They both feel that quite strongly, that they are meant to be together and that God is using them.  We all have our own opinions of course but I think it is not rules that matter but making sure we are right with God.

I think it is EL.  Oh well after murder and adultery divorce should be a doddle Seriously though our group is so good that we have already covered divorce, as well as the hosting couple one of our members today was the ex-minister's wife and their daughter has also been divorced.  It is so much part of modern society that many of us are brought face to face with it.  As we discussed today telling a lie is as serious as murder in God's eyes, as is all sin.  Some of it can be difficult to get your head around but Jesus was making the point of how much sin separates us from God, if we let it.

I phrased the first part of my previous post wrongly. It shouldn't have been a question, I should have said, I think it makes a difference that they were divorced before they found their faith.

Yes it's pretty constant, and often repetitive! I'm trying to be more patient and a better listener

No! We ended up with fish and chips from the chippy.

I love mine dearly, but I know exactly what you mean about it being constant and repetitive. I've told my sons they'll need to be patient with me when the time comes and they said "What do you mean WHEN?!"
