I saw the new Visit Wales advert yesterday:

and instantly recognised who was singing - Cerys Matthews my favourite singer.

The song is an old lullaby, Mil Harddach. It's of course Welsh, but the English translation of the song is:

You are a thousand times more beautiful than the white rose,
Or the red rose on the brow of the hill,
Or the proud swan swimming the lake,
My little baby.

What beautiful words EL, my favourite of hers is Calon Lan, the translation of which is a pure heart I believe.

The weather forecasts are looking very good, increasingly sunny and warm and next week especially looks what we have been longing for, at last   It's raining a little at the moment but I'm ignoring it and looking forward to sunshine

Have a good day everyone

Squiggle, you are right Calon Lan is a pure heart. Cerys Matthew's version:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MCSRb1R6-Ls

The words in English:

I don’t ask for a luxurious life,
the world’s gold or its fine pearls:
I ask for a happy heart,
an honest heart, a pure heart.

Chorus
A pure heart is full of goodness,
More lovely than the pretty lily:
Only a pure heart can sing -
Sing day and night.

If I wished worldly wealth,
He has a swift seed;
The riches of a virtuous, pure heart,
Will be a perpetual profit.

Late and early, my wish
Rises on the wing of song,
For God, for the sake of my Saviour,
To give me a pure heart.

When I went shopping this morning at the local Co-op I noticed that they were stocking the Corsodyl mouthwash I mentioned recently.

That's the one which is only for short term use.

They don't stock the one I use:

which is a third of the strength and is the one intended for daily use (as it says).

I had a word with one of the assistants about this as really they should be stocking the one I use in preference. As the assistant said the stronger one should really be sold in chemists.

My brother should be arriving at my house in the next hour for the weekend. First time I will have seen him this year as he went back before New Year's Day and the scheduled visit 4 weeks ago was called off because of the bad weather and the railway track might have been flooded.

It's a 2 day visit but the next one will be longer as that will be the Easter weekend. Although he will have been "retired" by then, I think his visits will continue to be of similar length and frequency as at present.

I won't be around on the forum much until my brother goes back so have a great weekend whatever you are doing.

Have a lovely weekend with your brother, El. If I remember correctly, your brother is bringing cake.
