Good morning everyone

 

Looks as if it will be a cloudy day here but only a small risk of any rain. The man doing my fences did most of the painting work yesterday. He's back here this morning with a mate to refelt the small shed, fix the replacement panels and complete the painting.

Hope the dentist visit goes well.

I thought Keira was at the groomers on Thursday, but when I checked my calendar, I realised it's today! Good job I double checked.

I'll have 2-3 hours to kill, so lunch and a long browsing session in the garden centre may be required.  I could come home and go back for her later but that wouldn't be quite so much fun.

Today is a special day, our Miss Bramble is 2 today!!

Keira tolerates the groomers but doesn't like it. The ladies are great with her though and she mixes well with the other dogs. (touch wood!)

I bet she takes a while, she must be quite a bit bigger than Bramble does she look happy & smell nice when she comes out?
Bramble is currently sunbathing and enjoying a snooze- great way to start her birthday

She is always happy to be going home, and she looks and smells great (for a while).

Maybe Bramble is simply re-charging her batteries, before celebrating her birthday.

Bramble loves a lay in she'll let me know if she wants to get up, but most days off myself or mr summer will get up and she'll stay in bed! Then she emerges about an hour later..

I really ought to be rushing around, getting dinner prepared and doing some housework, but I'm on here instead. I will get going in ten minutes.

My fence man and his mate have almost finished and the fence and shed look a lot better than they did, almost new

 

I'm back from the dentist and the treatment went smoothly. It's a temporary acrylic crown at present whilst the permanent one is made. I go back in 2 weeks. It's a mystery as to why the tooth became ground away as the tooth opposite it on my lower jaw sticks out somewhat making it near impossible for the lower tooth to grind away at the upper one.

El, I'm happy to hear your procedure went smoothly. I would love to see how crowns are made, they fit so perfectly

I've been a busy bee; we walked 7 miles, did housework whilst skyping my mum, made pancakes and watched the movie.
I'm glad I've seen The Great Gatsby but I won't be buying the DVD so I can re watch it. I found it rather peculiar, there was no happy ending and the characters aren't particularly likeable. There was one character who i did like, he is the narrator of the story.
I actually feel a bit blue after watching it, it certainly wasn't what I was expecting!
I would rate it with 3 stars

PB was great. Gabbling away, dancing and pulling herself up - using granny's leg to pull on.

Aw Crikey, she'll be walking before we know it!

 She went onto her knees and had a little go at crawling, then she pushed herself up onto her feet! She got so close to pushing herself up to a standing position.

I agreed with DiL that they should get those stair gates fitted in the new house asap!

I would agree too! Perhaps she's going to skim over crawling, and be walking sooner than we think!

I didn't know they go to the dentist so early, was he happy with how her teeth are coming through?

It's the night before I do the weekly grocery shopping, which means there won't be anything good left.

They seem to start them off at the dentist really early nowadays. She had already seen him when she was about four months old. As far as they can tell, everything seems fine. 

I've had some scrambled eggs and now I'm off to bed.

Cloudy here, breezy, and some rain is forecast.

 

Summer, re how crowns are made. My dentist takes a cast of all my teeth, then shapes the tooth to be crowned in the cast, and takes a further cast to ensure that the impression in the cast is what is required. The cast is then sent off to a dental laboratory for the crown to be made.

 

It's sensible for children from a young age to see a dentist so that a dental visit becomes a normal part of life rather than something to be feared.

 

I agree EL, it is so important for children to regard a trip to the dentist as nothing to be frightened of.  I am glad your dental work is going well.  I agree it is a mystery why some teeth fail, for no apparent reason.

 

It's a lovely morning here, a little light rain predicted later on but nothing much, it makes such a nice change from last week.

I agree El and Squiggle, it's good to get children used to the dentist at a young age, then they are less likely to fear going when they are older.

Hubby is off work for a few days, so he is coming with me to do the grocery shopping today. He can push the trolley.

Good morning
Overcast and windy here today.

I upset an older man down the shop early this morning-
I was at the counter with my newspaper about to pay for it when he cut right in front me by putting his papers right on top of mine and tried to give the assistant his money!
I'm not confrontational at all but my pet hate is pushing in and bad manners
I turned to him and said "excuse me, I haven't been served yet"
He looked surprised and said "well I thought you were just having a chat" to which I replied "no- I'm buying my newspaper"
He then picked up his papers and flung them across the counter!!!!! Then started ranting about how I had the dog in the shop (dogs are always welcome there because they only go from the door to the counter)
I was quite gobsmacked by it but I was livid too! I wish I was quick thinking enough to have a good response but I just paid for my paper and left.
I find it amusing now that I've calmed down- I presume he must be grumpy about something that happened before I put a stop to his bad manners.

Summer, it's upsetting when somethink like that happens, and just so unneccesary for him to act like that. He sounds a bit like a client I used to have who was always angry about something or other and had little patience for anyone.

How unpleasant for you Summer, so sad to hear of people with so much anger in them, they ruin their lives and those of others around them   You kept your dignity and didn't rant and rave at him in turn, well done.

Summer, I think there are some people who like being miserable and grumpy - it's their default mood. I console myself that there are far more nice people than miseries.

I wish I could be like Mr Yogi, who is so quick witted and funny that he can put grumpy folk back in their box, with just a few words.

Mr summer is like that too yogi, he has a gift for shutting people down with very few words, I don't know how he does it

I'll see the same shop assistant tomorrow so I'll just check he wasn't awful to her after I left. The poor lady is feeling unwell too so she could do without that

It's turned out to be a lovely sunny day here, I can't believe the difference.
