Good morning everyone
Rain overnight here seems to have cleared and hopefully it will be dry today. My fence man should be arriving soon to deal with the fences. The panel which was blown down may need to be replaced but he'll sort that out. He told me yesterday evening that he's been snowed under with calls from people who have had their fencing damaged in last week's storms.
Good morning everyone. It has been raining overnight but dry atm.
I had my bath and got into bed early last night (8.30pm). I was tired and thought I'd have a quick nap - and didn't wake up until morning!
I ought to be full of beans today, after all that sleep.
Have a good day, everyone.
Edit: it's becoming foggy now.
El, I'm glad you are getting your fence sorted out quickly.
El, I hope your fence can be fixed easily, how are the posts holding up?
Yogi, I'm glad you're ok you must have needed those zzzzz's!
Good morning everyone. What a lovely sleep Yogi, as Summer says you must have needed it.
A nice bright morning here, long may it last
I hope all goes well with the fence EL.
My fence man is now at work on my fencing. He will replace the panel which had been blown down and another panel which is damaged. He's painting the rest of the fencing which is the main part of the work. He will also replace the felting over my small shed and paint the shed. Subject to the weather he expects to do the fence painting today and the other work another day.
Summer, the fence posts are fine. The fencing on the side of the garden which is damaged has concrete posts and the panels just slot into the posts. It would have to be something like a tornado to blow those posts down.
Article on the BBC website today called "What do those squiggles on the pavement actually mean?".

I assume you mean the recent Leo the Lion (blame Stephen Fry for that one ) Leonardo diCaprio one rather than the Robert Redford one.

I love Stephen Fry.
I've been to see the physio this afternoon. She says there has been a further improvement in my strength and flexibility in my legs and there has been a reduction in pain whilst I am doing the exercises, which is good. She has added further exercises to my programme and I will return in two weeks.
I can now walk up two flights of stairs, without holding onto the handrail, whereas before physio, I had to hold onto the handrail and pull myself upstairs.
My physio is a little miracle worker!
That's great news Yogi, I'm so pleased
Thanks El. I'm so pleased, I could do a wee jig.
Yes the gatsby is Leo rather than Robert, I haven't seen the original. It will be interesting to see them both actually

Thanks Summer.
I've seen the Robert Redford version but not the Leo one. Robert Redford never floated my boat, I was a big Paul Newman fan.
Summer, not having seen either the Leo version or the Robert version I think it likely that the two films are very different in feel. I would guess that the Robert version is fairly sedate and the Leo version a lot faster paced. Also with the Leo version having been directed by Baz Luhrmann it's likely to be OTT in design. If you've seen either his version of Romeo & Juliet (the Leo one) or Moulin Rouge you will know what I mean.
Well done Yogi
I never really fancied The Great Gatsby, either the book or the movie but I hope you enjoy your new DVD Summer.

Not as unusual as the Jamaican bobsled team in the 1988 winter Olympics (from which the film Cool Runnings was based though). By the way, in real life the Jamaican team were welcomed by the other international teams, there wasn't the cool reception shown in the film.

Good on her for giving it a go. Her expectations were low and she seemed to enjoy being part of the Olympic experience.
I expect to pop in here as normal tomorrow at around 8 as normal but my dental appointment for my tooth to be prepared to be crowned (capped) is soon after 9 and so I won't be around most of tomorrow morning. If I don't pop in first thing, it will be because I ran out of time.

Thanks El, that will save us fretting if you aren't around. Hope all goes well at the dentist tomorrow.

Yes me too, I hope it all goes to plan
I'll leave you all my review on Gatsby. I have to confess I don't know the storyline but love the costumes & music from that era
Evening Summer. I'm still awake tonight.
I just cooked the hardest soft boiled eggs ever. Again
I just cooked the hardest soft boiled eggs ever. Again
Oh dear! I spent years making Mr Yogi's eggs too hard, until I tried this method. Put the water on to boil, then add the eggs and boil for 3 minutes only. I have a chicken egg timer to make sure I get my timing right and, so far, the eggs are always soft.
And what size are they?
I can't believe how complicated it is!!!!
Room temperature, hubby says you shouldn't keep eggs in the fridge (and he's right). The eggs are medium sized, not large.
One day, I'll actually achieve soft boiled eggs!
Anyway, how are your new physio exercises? Are they more challenging or just nice?

Two of them are fine and the third one is the exercise that was too painful for me when I started physio, but I can cope with it now. They will strengthen my muscles even more, which should ease some of the pressure on my arthritic hip joint. I have done them all tonight and no pain afterwards.
My butt is going to ache tomorrow, I've been back to yoga after a 3 week break

Well done, you - shame about the sore butt!
Is Bramble back to normal now?
Bramble has moments where I think she looks happy again and then suddenly she reverts to grumpy girl again! She's definitely starting to play more but she's not eaten her dinner tonight

Aww, sounds like she is still a bit out of sorts.
How's Keira?

Keira is fine. She is off to the groomers on Thursday - boy does she need it!
