Who eats the Bombay mix? I love that too

Steak and veg sounds good, we had bolognaise.

Hubby eats the Bombay Mix - he eats all the goodies I mentioned.

 <- Cadbury's Caramel.

Sweet dreams

Both of us like Maltesers, so we shall have to try the bunnies.

Good morning everyone. Weather is wet and windy.

Hubby is still asleep, so I don't know what our plans are for today.

Been reading back and I must have missed your post about your brother, El. What a shame he wasn't able to visit this weekend, but sensible to postpone it with the current weather conditions disrupting rail travel.

Have a good day, everyone.

I do hope that by then he will be able to travel without any trouble.  It must be disappointing for you both.

Good morning everyone, I am off to church in a minute but have absolutely no idea what I will be facing out there.  It has to have been the wildest windiest night I have ever known since moving down here 13Â― years ago.

I hope the weather is not too bad wherever you all are, and please take care out there

Good morning
I slept like an absolute log last night, first time all week

Squiggle, that owl story was lovely, Mumble sounds like such a treasure, no wonder he wrote a book about her.

El, I too had meant to mention your brother, I apologise for getting distracted at the time.
4 weeks isn't long, and right after pancake day too

Yogi I hope mr yogi feels good for his lay in what are your plans for today?
~Sparkling Summer~

Squiggle, I hope you were able to get back from church without being blown away.

It's windier here now than when it was when I went to church and that's making it feel colder than it was then. I have a lift back home to someone at church who had come to church in his suit without any coat.

Summer, I don't think my brother is quite in the same league of pancake fanaticism as you

El Loro

I hope the weather wasn't too bad while you were out at church, Squiggle. It's very wet and windy, up here. We have decided not to venture out today, and stay inside in the warm.

Aww at the wee puppy's expression.

El, I hope things will have improved with the weather in a months time and your brother will be able to visit you.

Summer, what are you up to today - chill out or busy day?

Moonie, I hope all is well and you are able to stay indoors in the warmth.

Hi Yogi
Yep, I intend  to stay right where I am now

Moonie

You may remember that I've mentioned in the past about my ancestor possibly being connected with Calcutta in a historic sense. The Calcutta Cup (annual rugby union match between England and Scotland) was played yesterday. I wondered what the history was as to why was it called the Calcutta Cup. So I looked this up.

Back in 1872 on Christmas Day a game of rugby was played in Calcutta between 20 players representing England, and 20 players representing Scotland, Ireland and Wales. It was so succesful that they had another match the following week and rugby became popular in India. A club was formed called the Calcutta Football Club. The club prospered for a year or so but then the free bar was discontinued. That resulted in a drop in membership as rugby isn't really suited for the Indian climate. So the club decided to disband but they wanted to keep the name alive. The remaining club's funds were drawn out of the bank in silver Indian rupees. These were melted down and made into a cup. This was presented to the Rugby Football Union with the proviso that the cup be competed for every year.

I didn't know about the history of the game, El.

Moonie

Wasn't too bad out, a little bit of flooding but I took it slowly, glad to be home though and the sun has come out now, for a little while.

I hope your new mop is as good as my new mop Summer, I am over the moon with mine.  It sprays cleaner which doesn't need to be rinsed off, and you can also substitute a wood cleaner for your wood floors.  No buckets, and a floor takes a minute to whiz through, one of the best things I ever bought.

squiggle

It's brilliant EL and moonie, and the heads velcro off and go in the washing machine.  I bought 2 additional heads so I can just keep washing them and keep going.  Silly to say a mop has changed your life but it very nearly has   Especially with this wet weather and wet footsteps whenever my grandsons thunder in and out.

Anything that makes lads help to clean up after themselves, is a brilliant invention.

  well done that lad

Moonie
Where's this mop from squiggle?! It sounds very appealing

I hope you've all had a good afternoon, I'm glad you drove cautiously squiggle

I ended up at MIL's house, helping mr summer paint a bedroom. He's getting it all cleaned up now..
It didn't feel horrible being there, it's very homely and I was always welcome there, it was nice to go back.

Heading out for tea, sign up below if you would like a Thai food doggy bag
